Just Found Out This Weekend About Marty

      To Marty & His Family,

As you probably know Marty has been a racing mentor to me since the first time I went to DePue to compete and begin learning Pro racing over ten years ago. He sold me the big white & red, low-rider trailer and a unique 250 prop to run (for a bargin price, I might add). What a really nice guy and a great person who always cared enough to help a newbie alky boat racer like me. Marty, you are in our daily prayers buddy. Stay strong, keep the faith, and get well soon. You will always have my utmost respect and sincere friendship.

        Thanks for the update Mark

We'll keep both the Stahl and Jedwabny families in our prayers. You all have been through so much this year. Know that you have the whole boat racing family support and prayers.

Marty - Keep the faith and positive thinking! We hope to see you soon.

        Again, thanks for the update!

                    today's update

Well, he had a rough night last night and had difficulties with his breathing. They ran a bunch of tests, though, which apparently all came back ok. They also checked for blood clotting, which wasn't there either. He's now moved out of ICU into another room. There was a steady flow of doctors and medical staff. He did, however, manage to get in a good hour nap. He also had some pretty weird dreams I guess (must be the Meds.) One occurred as he was having the breathing problems and actually dreamed he needed oxygen. Another one you can all relate to: He dreamed he was talking to Rick about the 250 motor. Guess we know what's on his mind! I told him about this thread and will print it out for him so he can see all of the wonderful support for himself. They are still concerned about his fluid retention as he remains very swollen/puffy. They are working on this, however, and it seems once this is taken care of the blood pressure may stabilize as well. He was also taken off the pain IV. He still says he's in pain, but it is not as bad. They gave him pill forms of new pain meds. He/we continue to stay positive and again appreciate all of the support.
Speed costs money. So, how fast do you want to go?

                                Hey Paul and Paulie,

Does that include the 1/2 six-pack that I generously put in the communal cooler?
