Ah the days when OMC still used Whale Blubber....Good oil, then Michael Jackson filmed Free Willy.....

Seriously, love Red Line, just like Bill says. Also use Energy Release, 2oz per gallon. Works slick as snot.

I'll give Redline a call today and see what the real difference is between the the two. Here's the profile of the injector oil per the Redline web site.

      Two-Stroke Watercraft Injection Oil
An ash-less biodegradable lubricant designed for water-cooled outboard, personal watercraft and other performance engines which recommend an NMMA TC-W3 lubricant. Better production of power, scuff protection and bearing protection is obtained compared to petroleums and other synthetics and is very clean. Perfect for new reformulated and oxygenated fuels.

You have buddies ? Fill us in on them, would you.

By the way, I don't use Redline, to expensive, I use real old synthetic from Union Carbide. Once I run out, I might need some of your go fast oil.

do a search engine like Google. Red line oil. Can buy it from them direct. pricey.
Do a dealer search on the web site. I was paying about $39/gal. Speed shops will carry it in your area.

I did...just making sure I am ordering the right stuff.

Is it the watercraft injection oil?

Ok here's the deal. I called Redline to find out the difference between their 2 cycle racing oil and the injector oil mentioned above. Per their tech guy he says that the racing oil will give you a little more scuff protection as well as some added protection in high heat situations. Both will work fine but if he had to make a recommendation based on the type of motors typically used here he would suggest the 2 cycle racing oil.

My earlier post stated Two Cycle Racing oil. Not injection oil.
I'am sure you buy it in your area. Local speed shops. I have bought it by the Gal and in 16oz plastic bottles by the case. Whichever is the better deal. I like the 16 oz bottles because it is one 16 oz bottle per 2 1/2 gals of gas. Which is enough for the weekend. The remaining use in the lawnmower.

You can get all the Red Line you ever need at Cycle World on Nordall north of the 78 Freeway on San Marcos Island. They have quarts, pints, and gallons. The hardest part is if you miss the ferry you have to take the San Marcos Bridge and traffic is bad in the AM/PM with all the illegal aliens going and coming from work.

No need to order online if you are in the area.

I have used alot of different oils and gauage an oil on what the motor looks like when torn down and the amount of deposits on the pistons. I used Penzoil syn blend for a couple years with good results and reasonable in price. Got a deal on Royal Purple so used that for a couple years motors looked the same inside. I now use VP C2 syn blend as its on sale most of the time. Its on sale right now at half price 4 Gal case 50.00 reg price is 127.00 a case. Oil cost becomes an issue when you run a Hotrod I get more races out of a set of rings in the Hotrods with the VP oil then with any other oils that I used. You just cant break a motor in with this oil as the rings will never seat.

                              Other Oil Options

I use a special order, new gray-colored formula of Redline's Methanol Synthetic 2-cycle for my 250cc Yamato pro motor and my former 350cc Konig; I buy it directly from Redline in California (it's still expensive even to buy direct). Ask for "Dave" at Redline if you have any technical questions about their 2-cycle racing oils. I have used Maxima Super M Racing Formula 2-Cycle hybrid mix oil in my Y102's (I bought it at a motorcycle shop for years) with great success and only one piston "stick" at 20:1 or 25:1 in 10 years of stock class racing. Jon Steen used that same Maxima formula, and in later years Motul oil, in his really competitive D-Stock & Mod motors (much higher ratio mix).
