I measured it, stroke is 3.1 inches. Referenced to the bottom of the tunnel, -6 to + 20 degrees. -Note: that is way more than ever gets used on the course.

It does not look like the drawing in the Seaway parts book. Have you called them? I would bet they can tell you exactly what you need to know. -

As I remember the original, OPTIONAL, OMC trim cylinder as pictured in the SeaWay parts had a very short stroke. I think it had just under an inch of travel or maybe up to 1 1/8 inch. Its been 23 years since we screwed around with them.

In practice this was a bit shorter than what you'd really like in most cases. And it is far better to have more travel so you are not running the cylinder max out. Without the hydraulic oil cushioning both sides of the piston, motor vibration is transfered directly to the boat. People quickly got away from the OMC design and cut a hole in the transom to use a much longer cylinder with the mounting bracket inside the transom.

This is my old boat that Larry measured from. I had a Rinker Trim cylinder on it. It was made for a SST 60, one of the first ones Terry made.. He still makes this stuff and is a great guy to deal with..
