OMC A carb question

Bad carb...........

I'm have trouble getting my A omc to run. I thought it was a fuel pump and put a new one on. Still would not run, like no gas getting to the carb. Today, I put a new set and needle in the carb. but it still died after priming. Am I a bad mechanic are what? Getting the carb off is a real treat the first time, have visions of the recoil going Bong....

Call Gary Pond. He may have a couple hundred carbs and fuel pumps all rebuilt and ready to go !!................

With the fuel line off the carb can you push gas out of the hose ( thru thre pump and connector ) with the primer bulb ? If so .. with the caeb off and upright can you blow air past the needle and seat? with the carb upside down you should not be able to blow any air past seat .
