    Brinkman Manual

Alan is still working on the update to Harry's manual hopefully it will done this year. He has so many projects in the works since retiring this past Nov it is a wonder how anything gets done.

In the the mean time I have just finished my booklet on the Mercury Mark 20H
that had never been molested. I have written a step by step disassembly of the engine cowls and magneto. I have not dug into the internals as I did not want to destroy that never tampered look. Included is a complte 20H parts list, history of the conversion kits, covers of the owners manual, the warranty envelope, a letter from Charles Strang and the 1954 Mercury price list. It is available on our web site aeroliner-boats.com for $29.95.

Hopefully for the last week of April test session we have set up. I still need a fuel tank, throttle cable linkage and to get the rope pulley to fit the flywheel. Plus I guess I need to finish the boat!

You come to one of our races and we will get you time on the water. We run three heats per class both days. Better bring Geritol

                Mike,

Great threads, both this and the boat building one.
Referencing the picture in the upper right, did you have to pay extra for the runs at the top of the transom?

Just kidding, really enjoy all that you and Teresa do, keep it up. It is a great looking boat.

Most of the folks over here prefer a walker over a wheelchair

                    No color!! Lazy man

                      Nice

                      Mike,

Time to MAKE some noise !!! Looks good, love the Lee Tietz mounts, real nice looking stuff.

That roping cup will be easy to fit, it look slike you have the original flywheel on it for the ignition ? Just fit an old hot rod roping plate on it. If it is something else, you can always adapt a bayer or quincy roping plate.

Actually, it you look at some junk yards you can sometimes find really old roping plates on some older smaller hp engines in stock form. not racing engineered, but will do the trick. Personally, I have switched to the ele go-kart starter and eliminated some weight, and saved some knuckles.

get rid of the MK55 flywheel and get a hub from a early 44 (the hub unbolts from the 44 flywheel) ........the flywheel is NOT needed..........then bolt your roping plate to the hub...........small taper crank you need to cut the flywheel down (30/55H style)

still dont know why one would build a 40cuber, when 44's are much more readily available and PISTONS are available..........and to lessen the headache, a 44 crank (large taper) should have been used instead of the small taper crank................

Does any one have the hub that Daren is talking about? This is the small crank with the 3 bolt pattern.

                              Hub

Or you could get a hub(flywheel) from a 30H. Won't be easy to find however.
