lower unit foot should be good purchased the 302 from Pat Gleason and yes 5" ext on the sterring hub!

As mentioned in a previous thread, trying moving your engine back 1/8" to 1/4", as it should pump better at any given height while also providing additional bow lift.

I wiegh 178LB, And Yes im Try To Get Back in the boat as far as possible, Not sure of the weight of the boat at this time, hope to get wieghed in Yelm! We will keep trying evry bit of input helps speed didnt seem to be an issue the gps read 61,5 high speed for the run boat seam s to get unstable the faster it goes

If you are new to boat racing the unstability you may be feeling at higher and higher speeds may be the boat beginning to lift and break free from the water and starting to float. I had the same feeling as did my nephew and it took some getting used to, especially in rough water. It is a strange feeling at first, but that may be normal. The more boat time you get the more comfortable it becomes. You will get used to the feeling. If you do have a lot of boat time, you've got a problem somewhere. You are off proper speed by about 4 mph at 61.5. You should be at least 65 mph and higher if you weigh 178.

With the Yamatos your setup problems are simple to identify and usually center around timing, carb tuning and proper propeller. Your kick out or kick under will vary from boat design, so Sorensen can tell you exactly where to set your kick out/under. You should do exactly what he says.
