  • CSR Ballot Item.......

Attention all CSR drivers there is a ballot item enroute!!!!

We will be voting to lower the class weight for CSR from 475lbs to 460lbs.

VOTE NO to 460lbs, leave it at 475lbs!

If voted in the change would be implimented for the 2010 racing season.

    Brent, I agree.

That is a stupid ballot item. What is the purpose of the proposed 460# rule?
We don't need 150# CSR drivers or boats made out of paper.

Instead Of Lowering The Weight They Should Raise It Lighter Drivers Can Run Heavier Boats . :d:d:d

The lowering of the CSR weight has been on the ballot a couple times before. It ends up being a survey of who is over weight and who is under weight. I am sure I know what the outcome will be.

          Just Say no

Vote no for changing the weight. There are already plenty of classes for lighter drivers to race.

            I'm a skinny dude...

Although you would probably think I'd be for the weight reduction, I have to agree with the others. There are plenty of other classes for us skinny guys to compete in. That being said, I'm stilll going to run 55lbs. of lead so I can play with my oversized friends... GL

I am 180 lbs and add 15 lbs. I think if they made it 575 lbs. I would have a better chance of staying in the boat.

Why the ballot is going out

What was presented at the meeting is that there are a few drivers running 25SSR instead of CSR because they don't want to add massive amounts of lead. We were told that if the weight was lowered there was a better than good possibility that they would then run CSR. This is not an issue in region 10 because the rule changes reqarding weight and restrictors on Yamato boats killed the class where we run. Just explaining why it's there, not endorsing or opposing.

                    Let Me Understand...

I just bought a 302, and Amber Marine is planning on ordering two more, as we thought C Runabout would be a good starter class in Region 12.

I thought from talking to Tim Weber, you just put a restrictor in and you were a 25 Runabout....

So they want to lower the weight in CSR so they can run 25 SSR...but they throw the Yamato out of 25 SS Runabout??

What??? A MERCURY ONLY CLASS WITH 20 YEAR OLD MOTORS THAT YOU CAN'T GET PARTS??? Lot of growth here...Ric Montoya has 72 302 Yamatos in stock at his shop and the 302 can't run in 25????

Would someone HELP this old man?? Never mind I'll worry about something else! BUT I REALLY don't get it....

ADD; We've got AXS, 15 Sidewinder, A, hydro and runabout, 20 hydro...for light drivers why don't we make CSR 500 for FULL GROW PEOPLE? What is the average weight of an American male?????

                      Csr

What are the sizes of all the CSH drivers? CSH is 440 lbs, why is runabout any different? I always hear that the lighter guys should just run other classes. Maybe the heavier guys should bring back the D runabout class?Looks like 25ssr is dead if you own a Yamato.

the 25 Merc has won the 25SSR Nats the last 2yrs!!! I truly feel the restricted 302 should be allowed to remain in 25SSR UNTIL the class can survive on its own with the Sidewinder, which I truly believe will not be purchased in ample amounts to make a full field, in this current economic situation..............the class will die...................

I won 25SSR on '07 with a restricted 102. Ed did win in Whitney '08 though. GL

They should have lowered the weight the Nov. 2010, cause that's how long it will take me to loose all that weight and it will simultaneously go along with what they should have done the year after we saw the numbers drop in CSR.
I believe removing the Yamato and lowering the weight will increase the participation in CSR and be for the better.
