In other threads we all keep talking about how hard it is to get people into our sport. Now here is someone who wants to start racing again, and has chosen the class in which he intends to compete.

None of us have the right to say if this choice is right or worng, but we should all be supporting him.

    Joe Johnson

I think since he said local racing someone should point out that the class is not existant other than in USTS for the most part. Other than USTS it is dead and the guy has a right to know before he makes a purchase. Being informed on what is strong locally is important. From there it is what ever floats his fancy.

So, he could go to 2 races in Florida with the USTS next year, plus a UIM world championship. We should point that out. Plus, I can count 5 or 6 1100's in Region 5 that might decide to join some local races (if there are any).

As I said in my post above, what ever floats his fancy as long as he is informed. I'm sure the local organizers would be happy to see the Pro boats show for local races. I can't speak for the organizers or alky drivers since I am not an organizer or alky. I'd travel the US racing too if I had the funds.

With that siad, you guys just don't know when you have won the discussion thread. ...

Let's see here. A better way to say what David and Joe are trying to say is, "Glad to see you cared enough about a returning racer to help educated him on local classes in his region. It looks like he has his mind made up on 1100cch. Thanks for trying to help him out. More people should look out for the new or returning racers and your input is appreciated."

Aw come-on Doug, Joe and I have never won here before, so you cannot expect us to know how to act!!

Another competitor any outboard class is welcome even he/she elects to burn gasoline rather than methanol.

1100cc hydro has some good momentum right now, but it will not offer the opportunity to race every weekend locally. Also, look for 1 definite and possibly a second boat to be campaigned from Region 4 in 2008 and possibly another from Region 6.

Top Hydro (1100) has lost a few and gained a few every year as I perdicted 3 years ago at a title series meeting, now it seems as though there is a strong possibility of as much as a 25% jump in new drivers for 2008 so if someone wants to have a little racing near were the live this could be possible Pat

I thank every one for their input so far. I have spoken with a few racers as well and gathering the latest info is very helpful in getting back. Please keep the info coming. I will be in Jessup as an observer in October and will be looking forward to speaking as well as meeting with you all.

According to the APBA points page...there are 15 1100ccH's that have scored points this year.

Can anyone tell me how many of those boats are "True" 1100's?

                    No step ups...real 1100cc motors?

Also, I attended the Title Series race at Dayton. Some nice tight racing in 250R and 350H.

Always a pleasure to watch a different category in person.

You guys should throw a 1000 foot pin above the turn. Would make starting much easier there. That's how we normally run the course there.

True according to the rules.....all of them.....true as in 1100cc 1 or 2 I think....if I am wrong Pat will let me know.

As for the 1000ft buoy, good point. Those were some hairy starts! I did not want to change up too much for our first race there. It was fun smaller then I remember as a kid. I look forward to going back, the second year is ALWAYS easier!

As a 250 driver who lined-up with 8 or 9 other 250's in the second heat, please allow me to say AMEN!!

                          Possibly 3 most are 700 Allow 1100 so engine's like 6 cylinder merc's
could possibly run as quincy loop and big merc's were all there was at one time. Konig konny rossi vrp 700 can handle any of the old merc's or loops (cep maybe Fuschlin when he is on) Was going to set class at 700 but Robbie Galetta asked for a top hydro class and being that he put up thousands of dollars over last few years (first place at depue Mckean got $3,000.00 from Vertichal rehab(Deb and Robbie Galetta Co.)2nd was $2,000.00,THIRD$1,000.00 AND SO ON ALL THE WAY DOWN Riches purse in Pro catergory I believe ever,So his request is rewarded . Racing is not only for the Drivers have to consider Sponsors and spectators as well
