Interesting...It is a three screw port cover block but is a two screw cover in take port block.. CIRCA 1960, which would have made it a replacement Mark 75-H block...Six/Four port cover motor, three port cover screws!!!
Ron is right ... a replacement block. All post production replacement 60 ci blocks were the same 3 cover casting instead of the original 6 cover version.
Porting is normal ... by the time the 6's were being made, all Merc ports were oval.
?? for you , the 55-H engines, were the intake and exhaust ports raised 60 thousandths
higher than the 40 H.P. fishing engines ??
That is correct.
I know of no 75H's or parts for sale at this time, but a number of lower units have gone unaccounted for as some collectors have aged ... you never know when something will pop up.
if anyone wants a mark 75...especially if it is join our FE ranks...I'll bet I can hook you up with a powerhead and any parts for it you might need. I would think a Bass gear foot would handle it.I have a "secret" source of all manner of merc parts.
