650 XS Mercury Motor - For Sale

I have a Merc 650 xpower but it has a full cowl not split like the pix of this one. I need some parts?? Looking to restore a 72 Allison 15' with this motor on it. Any help would be great! New on here thanks! Kevyn

Merc 650x

I'm located in southeast Ohio near Marietta. The boat and motor are over at my mother’s house in her garage! I've owned the Allison and motor for over 15 yrs. I gave up it when a piston burnt. I had a new piston put in but the timing advance arm "trigger" had broken. I called Merc and they didn't have one. Maybe build one? I have a much bigger shop now 24 x 40 and would like to restore both boat and motor. I'll have to get some pictures before I start. Allison has been changed to a two seater with fuel cell in the middle. The center dash hole has a tack in it now. Boat is black on yellow and has a custom tandem trailer. The tittle has a guy named Craft from KY who had it before me. It all needs a lot of work. Kevyn

kevyn try 5 minute epoxy on your trigger arm , if that fails order trigger # 96455a8 , cheers , lee .

The triggers ARE readily available thru the many marine electronic sites.

...So what is the difference between a regular 650 fishing block and a 650xs block? Was the padding any different? How about the porting? I have the internals/externals to assemble one, I just need a bare block..thanks...gus
