302 crank shaft

    I have heard the 102 and early 202's used the same crank shaft. However the later 202's and the 302 have a heavier crankshaft. I'm not sure if the top section is interchangeable or not. We will look into it and let you know. Thanks for the help!!

      Brad,

      After talking more with Sean, I understand it is the crankshaft top internal threaded area for the rope plate bolt, that split somewhat. Not the external threads for the flywheel .... hopefully, the story will end in a successful repair and record as this motor almost had the 1 1/4 mile OSY record last fall .... not bad for needing to drive through 10 boats in the first turn (ie very crafty piloting by Guedo the Killer Pimp).

      If there was an "accident" in the blueprinting process, I can understand, but a mechanical failure is practically unheard of for a 302. Its newsworthy. Lets hear the story, please.
