Hi,
This is a great thread! I'm new to boat racing, but not boat building. Do you guys know of anyone that has sst45 plans for a competitive boat? I've searched the net, but not found anything.

I'm not sure if I am reading your posts correctly, but are you building your own capsules?

If anyone wants to start building capsules, I have a plug that is 90% finished. These photos were taken in 1993. It looks similar to a Pugh but built before his design came out (I think). It's definitely not a copy. All drawn out on paper and built by myself.

carbon sst

im a design engineer and i work for a aerospace/marine mold company now and am planning on CNCing a boat plug, making the composit tooling then laying up a carbon fiber boat. hehe, nice to have resources.

3d printing

just a little update.
im about to "print" a rapid prototype model of the boat above. we at my work have a 3d printing machine that actually prints the model in a fine paper like dust. paint it with resign and there you have a hardened 3d scale model. ill post pictures when its printed. so i just thought for the tech people out there. its neat. probably print it about 18" long.

if anyone else is interested in a scale model of there boat let me know. ill get prices of what it cost for me to print models for people. nice for prototyping.

heeey that looks nice! great job on the solidworks Sam. im still waiting to print mine new design 3d. tried out that cat hull shown above. that turned out nice so i should go ahead and give her a shot. anyone else doing any modeling they want to show off?
