  • Waitts Lake, Washington Sept 12 & 13th

Here is to a great bunch of guys AGAIN. You guys are the best. The SLORA Flatbottoms offered up rides in their Nostalgia Flats as raffle prizes! The money from the raffle goes to pay for the ambulance that is required for us to race.

The rides are a huge draw and a lot of raffle tickets were sold in part because of the rides offered.

Once again my hat is off to you guys!

Welcome to hydroracer, we hope you enjoy your visit.

Thanks to Dave Weber for giving me a ride in the E39 with the agreement that I would help him to get onto hydroracer.

I did learn that the little "butt flap" on the outboard life jacket when you are only 5'2" tall causes the jacket and helmet to ride WAY up when you sit down. (No wonder the guys with the flats don't have flaps!) Of course being on the chubby side didn't help my cause either.

I have to say I Want One Of These Boats! I could seriously do that kind of racing. What a hoot that ride with Dave was, thanks Dave for the ride and for all you do for the sport!

Thanks to Doc Holiday for giving my grandson a "Putt" around the lake, I know it is hard for these boats to go slow. Also for giving his Papa a run around the lake.

Dont' let his user name fool you Boyd is anything but a Jerkizoid. The name came from a title the circle drivers used to go by. After accepting his 1st place medal, Boyd promptly turned it over to his youngest fan. Ben was on the beach all weekend and would wave as the flatbottoms went by on their parade lap and would clap as they came around into his view each time. He would gladly play in any of their boats all day long and absolutely loved his first race boat ride.

The little man got a RIDE with pictures to prove it. (and to go with the static photos from his sitdown @ Newport where he cried when his hands were pried off the steering wheel and he was pulled out the drivers seat.)

I'm sure they said Thanks Doc... you ROCK man!! \m/

Benjamin is my new crew chief, PERIOD! After polishing my seat and adjusting the umbrella and velocity stack, and splashing all the extra H2O off the floorboards (to save weight), he had to be the reason I ran so well!

No one has a race crew member who eats and drinks so little (not one of my beers all weekend), wears smart colorful uniforms (unembroidered non APBA legal is fine with me) and never has to take coffee or rest room breaks! (he's vertually self contained with a great 'CAN DO' attitude)! I'm so lucky and blessed, but cant wait for the video he helped make!
Oh, by the way, Ben rode with the Doc's Sanger (my fastest competition all weekend) on purpose to gather speed secrets. (he also has his own scratch proof plastic tools!) and found a loose bolt on the floor! No goo goo dadda 15 month old here!

                Thanks April for your trust...

I know everyone has memories of incidents heading home BUT racing seems to dull any bad experience making it: not worth mentioning!
Doc, Jeff, Tom, Rich and myself met at 'Geronomos' in Springdale for nourishment on the way home.......Great time and food.

Doc had a small problem when he locked keys inside tow vehicle.....no slim jim so bustin a glass solved that. Next the Deer sprang from Deer Park! Go figure. A small car in front of Doc locked the brakes and so did we all! Close call to say the least. I was glad I had anti lock brakes in the ole cruiser and was able to protect his transom from being hit, just my boat was in jeopardy!

Into Spokane, another car on Neveda turned into a drive right in front of him and a jaywalker was seconds after that. Still smiling upon reaching his shop, he stated he cant wait for Moses Lake Nationals!!! That's a new dedicated racer and new best friend for a JeRk, not bad driving Doc, all around! By the way, he is a 'Doctor', of Heating and Air Conditioning, not Denistry!

Thanks Doc for the incredible opportunity to race beside such a class act, now get logged on dude! Beat Dave at something!

Hey uall! jerk thanks for all the compliments. A great time is a direct result of all the great people! Every time I & we{the flats} get together with our friends from SLORA we get to know each other more & more & find out that we are all about the same thing. Family, friends, having a good time & doing some great racing. Yeah Im hooked & looking forward to Moses Hole.

I really enjoyed giving rides, it was a great way to give back. I am open for that at every race. Great pics of little Ben in the boat rod.

Benjamin, Kevin and I are home safe and sound! Not as eventful drive as some, except for your typical dumb drivers.

Thank you so much Jerkizoid for spending all that time with Benjamin I truly believe thats how future racers are made.

This weekend was a complete blast and the company is always great. We are so thankful that my father has brought us into this family and allows us to use his boats, engines ect.

Thanks again to Keller Racing for the use of the helmet on sun.
By the way Kevin is still talking about how wonderful driving the D-Stock boat was!!!!

Thanks for giving Benjamin and Kevin a ride Doc!!!!
