Their was a good turnout of boats and drivers. A shout out to Team Red, Fred H. Dave Mason, Steve Johnson & G69 team who made the long trek down to Lucas from up north. Nichols Racing from Dallas. Hope I did not forget anyone. Test day on friday the water was decent, sat. however the water conditions took a turn for the worse. 20 to 30 mile gusts straight down the course. We did get the race run with very trying conditions. Several drivers did make contact with rocks lining the banks, damaging their boats, no injurys. I don,t think any of the boats were damaged to bad. Richard Baze managed to climb a rooster tail in E Hyd. and get thrown out of his boat, and get wet. Overall drivers did a great job managing very trying conditions. The only results I know for sure were the the 2 classes we ran in Sat. E-Run. 1st Keith Kampen 2nd Kevin Mcaffee 3rd Jeff Ruth, D Run. 1st Alan Owens, Not sure of the rest of the running order'. Sun conditions were much better, but Fred H. still made cointact with the rocks in E Hydro doing some serious damage to his boat. Race was completed in short order, done at 4:00pm. E Run. Keith & Kevin split 1st & 2nds Alan Owens repeated in D Run. Over $ 5000.00 was paid out to the drivers after the race.
