Nice looking work you did there. Interesting how you ran the air taps a little past the transom

Next up is Kyle building his new J hydro. Progress may be a little slower on it as he is the builder while I'll just advise and enjoy some beverages!

That being said, he is excited enough about it that he may build quicker than I do!

beautiful job Steve! Is that a Cmod? Did you build the gas tank also?

            Hey Daren,

I had a long chat with Steve a few nights back and if I ever make a come back in SO my money will go to Steve for a new ride, his craftsmanship is the best I have ever seen.

Steve, what is the reasoning for the chines extending past the transom and the pads on the bottom? Just curious.

                Boat Questions

                Guys,

I extend the airtraps to help with tracking stability both on the straights and cornering. It also helps to lift the back of the boat.

The pads simply reduce wetted area and vent air to help kill some of the lift.

All the boats that I do come with a gas tank like that. It isn't built in, but held in slots so that it simply slips in and then a bolt holds it in place. It is easy to drain that way. I've seen built in tanks, but have you ever seen a guy try to dry it out after a flip?

                Steve

                    Boat looks nice but....

I'm not really trying to be a wiseguy here, but I hope you have maybe looked at the stuff on another thread about the rounded pickles. You might have some modifications to do before you go much further. It really does look good though.

                    • Yes I have looked at the other thread and even though the ends are not rounded they do not come to a point if you looked close. They are blunted more then two inches and more then the one inch UIM rule. There is no rule in place for rounded ends as of this date. Also the blocks on the ends are soft balsa which will crush on impact.

                      • Here is my first new boat EVER! I was very excited to have this delivered for the Constantine race. I am hoping to get it to FL before Inverness to get paint on it. It is a TEC Craft and I must say,Tom did one hell of a job on this one....I love it.

Kristi, are you now getting serious and going to terrorize the 125/175 fields? Good Luck.

Thanks Joe and Jerry for the "package" .... Santa made the 3000 miles from New York to the Emerald City. The crating was excellent!

It should be back in NY in August!
