First It Takes Commitment & Local Community Support
We are still working on getting the 250 ccH class going on the West Coast again. It will take a bit more commitment from our racing community and a few races with more than three or five hydros to pull it off in 2008. We would like to run at least three or four Pro classes here (OSY, 250, 350, & 500-1100 mixed) in a USTS-like race for at least one day during a weekend every other month. This is hard because we are a minority set of classes here, but a slow-growing revivalist group amongst the dominant stock racing crowd. All we need is a local club that will feature us for at least one day during the race weekend and also some responsive, US-based powerplant experts that will keep us well-supplied with needed parts (like gears, pistons & rings, ignition systems, and carb rebuild components). The goal (or "dream") is to run like IROC did for sports car racing. We have not given up yet. I can find the community support at the local Fire Departments and a few Casinos, but we really need the commitment of the West Coast Pro racers to show up at a special-event Pro race!

for your info
Al
In a effort to help spur local racing the commission decided to allow three boat races recieve APBA points. It is in the new rule book for 2008. In sitituations like you guys have on the West coast maybe this will help.
