Ok troops where are my reporter's that signed up for live play by play action from Lock Haven ? Ed Hearn would have been giving us play by play action as the trailers started to enter the pits at 7am this morning lets go people ! our shut in audience is waiting
I'll share some news I got 3rd hand tonight. Shannon Bowman went over in CSh but was okay. As mentioned earlier, Thompson won. Brian Williams ran a strong 4th overall. Good Job B. 3 elimination heats!
Johnny Wodlarski, frequent poster here on HR, was injured in AXSH. From what I understand, he has a foot injury. All of us at Three Rivers certainly wish him the best.
Maybe it's just me because I'm one of the 'WALKING WOUNDED" from getting thrown out of a boat, but doesn't it seem like more people are getting wet and wounded at the races this year? I mean, holy cow..........Shanon Bowman getting wet? Certainly with his years of experience it had to be someone else that caused this to happen. Makes you wonder if people are taking more chances on the race course than they normally would ( i.e. racing over their heads ). I hope Johnny W. is okay and heals up soon. We will keep him and all of the others that are on the mend in our thoughts and prayers. THINK and stay safe and dry.
Got home late last night, I usually do not stay for Monday's racing because its nice to have Monday to relax and recoup before going back to work on Tuesday.
Here is what I saw and remember. I had heard 178 entires on Saturday with the two biggest classes being CSH with 26 entries and 20SSH with 16 entries. Shannon Bowman, Chalie Gonyea and myself had a great race in the finals in CSH on Saturday! I can't put into words how much fun it was to run deck to deck with those two swapping positions every lap. I've never been so tired after a heat of racing my CSH. In the end, Shannon took first I took second and Charlie took third overall. On Sunday, "The Dash for Cash" was a one heat elim. and two heat final race. In the first heat of the final, Shannon Bowman flipped in turn one and tore his right sponson off. In the same turn Joel Weigel got tangled up with someone and damaged the front of his boat as well. I do not know what happened though. Jeff Thompson was the man to beat in both heats as he nailed each start on the inside. I jumped the gun the first heat which took me out of the running. Congrats Jeff for winning "The Dash for Cash".
In 20SSH, great battles were going on all over the race course along with a couple of accidents. I do not remember all who wrecked but I do know that Ken Terry and G.W. Resch got tangled up in turn two and damaged each of their boats. I believe Tim Sidor won overall. Sunday's 20SSH race was going to be run this morning.
In CSR Greg Lyons and I swapped first and second positions each heat each day with Greg winning on time both days. Great job Greg.
The weather was perfect all weekend, the cooler bobbing was fun to watch again and the hospitality was great! I'm ready for next year.
I have been to Lock Haven Many times and there are always boats getting tangled up there. Gets a little ruff when there are 9 or more in a class. Congrates to Jeff Thompson for the "Dash for Cash"
I want to thank everyone who helped me get out of the water and helped pack up my gear
my parents want to thanks everybody who helped and for all your thoughts and prayers
right now i am still at the hotel about to leave, my foot is on mend right now and im in a little pain. but the doctors said it looks good and i should heal fine
thanks again to all who helped
johnny
I'll be the first one to say sorry for the horrible LIVE coverage at Lock Haven. I guess we'll just leave that up to Steady Eddy. I am either in the water, in my boat, or going out on patrol boat. As for Shawn, he races 2 classes and ref's the remainder of the time. Finally, Greg races far too many classes(ASR,AXSR,BSR,25SSR,CSR) to do anything but win, I mean race!
I don't know how Ed does it, but that's how we roll!!
Joe is being very modest - this was probably the best race I have seen in 15 years - bar none.
Most of the time you get lucky having 2 boats run deck to deck for more than 2 laps but this race was awesome. All 3 boats ran deck to deck with each driver leading 1 lap and each driver swapping lanes every lap. 1st lap it was Joe on the inside then Shannon then Charlie, 2nd lap, it was Charlie then Joe then Shannon, then Shannon made his move and at the finish line you could have covered all 3 boats with a blanket.
The best way to know you saw a good race, just look at the beach - during this race, every driver and crew put down whatever they were doing and were cheering their favorite driver to victory. The crowd loved every turn. There were high fives up and down the pits. If anyone has this on video, it is an instant classic.
First would like to say hats off to the Jennings crew. I never saw any of them stop working all weekend.......we owe a ton of thanks to them and the rest of the region 3 workers.....Also those that worked the long sets on the course...
Jeff ,Tom, and another fella were busy with inspections and thanks to those that worked on the scales.......
The weather--perfect
Water is always challenging at the Lock...but once you learn it, it is predictable..........
Mike Marshal must'a found some vel-crow cause he stayed in the boats and was right-on with his starts to take 25SSH on Sunday (19P-2nd, 59s-3rd)) and BMR/North American Championship!
Great weekend, awsome weather, long days, I race too many classes, congrats to the "little girl" that beat me in bobbing, congrats Jeff on the Dash, get well soon Johnny, hope you feel better Earl, thanks to the inspectors and scorers, glad to be home, goodnight! GL
Thank You to the Jaycees for making this such a great event and venue for us to race at. You guys really treat us great and work hard to put on a great time for all!!! THANK YOU!!!!
As for the racing, unbelievable!! As always we had very exciting racing on the tricky Susquehanna water. Still clear enough to see James Luce's AX Cowl sitting on the bottom that I jumped in to get(felt great after sitting out on patrol boat). Thanks to those who travel from far places to race at what I'm sure they already know is one of the great races to compete at! Burner thanks for working inspection, Mary, Jeff and Don thanks as usual, Lisa and Alex-Great Job as usual, great job announcers especially you Scott, Thanks Referees, and last but certainly not least, the scorers- we wouldn't be able to do this without you!
Special thanks to Tom Nucio for coming all the way up from Florida! At the end of a long three days of racing at 2:30PM on Monday, Tom came walking down the ramp toward the patrol boats and started to help finish cleaning up, CLASS ACT! Thanks Tom, good to see you!(Nice Boat!)
Alan Whiteside (possibly near ramp)
3/8's combination wrench
7/16's combination with ratchet'n box end
Wrench's from sets or would just write off to cost of race'n..............
Will pay shipp'n
Some local folks (Bob's-Hillbilly yaught club) with a lot/boat dock near the ramp helped us when we found a crack in Alan's DMH tower.....pulled motor and they left their party to weld it !!!....Would not of made it out there (FEH)without their help

The Final boat count for Lock Haven was 183 boats for Saturday...178 for Sunday and 48 on Monday !!!!!
I will be finishing up the paperwork tonight, and should have results posted tomorrow (Wed).
Thank You to everyone who attended, via racing or hanging out. Thank you to all who helped at registration and on the Judges stand, Inspection and in the Patrol Boats. It takes more than a club to put on a race this size, and we couldn't have done it without all of you.
A big thanks to Scott Johnson and the entire Lock Haven Jaycee's committee, for their hard work all year getting this together.
Thank you to the ambulance crew's who took such great care of all our injured drivers... Boy did we keep them busy !
Luckily only 2 had to be transported to the hospital, Earl Desiato (sprained neck) & John W. (laceration to the foot) both were released and back in the pits.
From what I remember, he's a list of the driver's who went out of their boats,
Craig Bowman (Barrell rolled CSR), AJ Jennings (Barrell Rolled 20SSH), Shanon Bowman, Earl Desiato, John Wordowski, GW Resch (2 times), Chuck Renner, Ken Terry, Rich Palys....etc...

Thank you Lisa and MGallagher... not sure if I had the pleasure of meeting you.
We (the JCs and the community) do our best to make you guys feel at home.
183.... unbelievable.
The Jaycees would love to meet with the boaters much more than we do, but our time is so stretched out, it's tough to do.
Rest assured: We will continue to bend over backwards to do everything we can to make the boaters happy.
YOU ARE THE SHOW, and the community really loves all the boaters.
Spread the word about how great the event in, and let's get even more boats next year.
My thanks for ending at 2 p.m. Monday so we could have the concert out on the river. It meant a lot to us and the community. The amphitheater, by the way, was COMPLETELY PACKED that night and was really a must-see show.
Again, thanks to everyone for all the kind words and lets all work together to make next year's and years after that much better.
I would love to get more alcohol boats here.
