Mark,
You really hit the nail on the head with your last post. My racing intentions have never been to be the next Don Christy or to even win races. I only wanted to experience what my Dad enjoyed so much about racing boats. I was driving the boat exactly as you described in your post; driving around the outside in the turns, trying to stay in the smoothest water, but still pushing the boat to perform it's best. It was and has been a learning experience for me in better understanding how these little boats work. My future intentions are to continue to find ways to improve the boats to make them faster AND safer.
When i came in to the boat ramp after my accident last week, I didn't want anyone to think I was hurt bad enough to stop racing for the day. So i wanted to get up and walk to the ambulance. I needed some help to do this, and my back, neck and arm were realling killing me by this time. I am glad that they finished racing that day, though.
I am bruised, beat up and cripple right now, but I feel like I have found a group of people that i can fit in with and can enjoy the same things together. And that makes me feel pretty good.
I would like to get a copy of the picture you have of me in the blue CSH that you put in an earlier post. Email me at "rcracerva@yahoo.com".
aND YES, i AM TYPING WITH ONE HAND!
