  • Any interest in a vintage-classic race in region 6?

I was tossing around the idea of having a classic stock race next year.It would be classic A,B,C,D hydro and runabouts. It would be on a free weekend so it wouldnt clash with the regular races.Give me some feedback on the idea and let me know if their is some interest in it.If i have enough interest in it i would get started on making it happen. Thanks

Bob.....I would love that idea.....I could probably get 2 or 3 55h runabouts on the water and also help with some kg4 or mk 15 stuff if it would get boats on the water...sounds like fun!!

It would be in early June in cojunction with our river fest. The river runs through down town Alpena were they used to race back in the 50s.I would like to have a marathon as well as some sprint racing if we get enough hydros.I could probly get some good prize money from the downtown merchants they are all located right by the river.Keep em comming guys it could be a great time for all.

                  Vintage race

Looks like I sold my vintage motors too soon. Any chance that "vintage drivers" would qualify even if we raced our stock stuff?

I'd run my 20H on both my old Rinker runabout and my hydro. Count me in for BU and BSH. Mike Marshall, Raceboat61-S

I mentioned this to a couple people at our Long Sault race on the weekend. Guys were interested. But it's a bit of a haul from Eastern Ontario. John Webster's ears perked up the most I think

We still have a regualr attendance of B, C and D classic hydros at our races. We had 5 20h's this past weekend. Was a blast to watch.

Bob...presently I have 2 C runabouts...one short course and one marathon. I just sold a 25SS and a KG4. Maybe I'll pick up something to run by then.

How would you guys like to run a Marathon. The Thunder bay river runs around the outskirts of town and is very beautiful. From were i would start to the turn around is about 4-5 miles one way.I figure each class could run 4-5 laps and it doesnt matter if the wind is blowing 60 mph its always like glass. It would be very spectator friendly.Im getting with the riverfest chairman next week to get the ball rolling. Also would their be any problem with running it through the AOF?We could save a lot of money and have bigger payouts for the racers.Let me know what you guys think.I would love to see a pack of 20h runabouts flying through the river it would be heard all over town.Keep the imput comming guys. Thanks
