  • APBA Merc 15?

Where did the link go to buy this motor or conversion kit through APBA?

Had a couple people ask me them on the weekend.

Or how much was the conversion kit?

You can call Patty at APBA and she can fill you in. The kits cost 545.00 including shipping and the gear foot Im pretty sure is 950.00 from the Hotrod company. Any 1999 or newer 9.9/15 Merc can be used only differance between the 9.9 and 15 is the tuned pipe and carb which can be bought from Mercury. You can also use the 1995 to 1998 but have to change the flywheel, stator and brain box to the newer ones. A 1999 15 just sold on ebay for 510.00 , both mine started life as 9.9's and came from ebay, one a 1999 and the other a 2002 and you can sell the excess parts to get some money back.
Destiny is a matter of chance,it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

George is correct. Email patty@apba-racing.com to purchase a motor or conversion kit. I can deliver a motor or conversion kit to the PRO nationals (DePue) or J-MO-SO nationals (Wakefield). Conversion kits are 545 (shipping included). Motors (less gear case) are 1995 (plus shipping).

            Thanks all!

Just curious why it was removed from the new APBA website? Or is there and I haven't found it?

              Lower Units

Last time I checked into the APBA J/AXS Merc thing, Early June 2006, lower units were not available. Might find one used. Hopefully things will turn around for the deal soon. Been a long time coming.

I have a complete set of adaptors that I would sell for less than the new asking price.

We have given up on the Merc and am turning it back into a fishing engine.

                  Dave,

The new owners of Hot Rod have lower units. Check with Ed Runne. Also, I have a new lower unit that belongs to Hot Rod. You can purchase it from them.

                    Mark,

                    for a merc 15
What comes with the conversion kit?
What is different from buying the motors through APBA versus from a dealer?

                    Thanks

The difference is you can't get one from a dealer.

                          OK, more specific.
                          The APBA Merc 15s.
I believe they come without the lower unit, which is bought through Hot Rod.
Is the Powerhead gone through at all or totally stock. Rule book looks like slight modiffications can be done.
                          Are specific water inlets plugged?
                          Restricor plate installed.
                          Holes drilled for steering bar?

We want to play around with one on the lake and if the kids like it maybe get more involved in J class.

No mods nec.(engine is stock merc. fishing motor) to run engine, however, to run in the front of the pack
expect to pay for someone to blueprint motor.
