    Fuel testing in associations

Steve - John Copeland has done a ton of articles and many of those are posted on the karting web sites. The following is a link to article #8 that john did regarding testing of todays fuels and being fair to all competitors involved.
    It's well worth the read.

This is a small portion of that article -

Enough about the problem. What's the solution? It should come as no surprise that there are folks all over the country working on this one. During the course of writing this series I have heard from karting organizations from coast to coast, as well as from people involved in snowmobile racing, motorcycles, and the American PowerBoat Association. Everybody's facing the same problem. And these people and their organizations have tried, and are trying, lots of different solutions to deal with it. Let's look at a few of them.

I was at the Annual Meeting in Jan. fuel meeting seminar that OPC Chair Mike Wienandt put together and that was very imformative.

        Good info
I would like to clear up one bit of info; where he mentioned all the same discount and chain trucks getting fuel from one sorce he kind of implyed it was all the same. That is true as far as a base guel ( no additives) every terminal i have done contract work in. yes the GAS is the same but the additives that go in it are not the same. That additive tanks are plumbed in in such a way that the computer controls whos additives (amoco, phillips, ect.) and how much of the additives are added to the base gas.
So a Caseys truck that is infront of a trk that hauls for Phillips brand station gets the same base gas with a different add. package. IE they get what they pay for in the quality of fuel

just a bit of mostly useless trivia

          Lights-
Give me a call midweek and we will tune you up for Burlington. Gas is available closer than you think in the metro area.

              gas is a crap shoot . . .

Like Sam sez. Station often get a tank refill of ethanol enhanced fuel and don't bother alerting the customer with a posted sign. And here in emissions inspectionland, any large metro area, stuff is added to the gas to make it burn cleaner, especially in the winter months. Of course one could strock up on meter-clean gas when they find it, but . . . gasolene doesn't store well. Anyone who rolled their lawnmower in the shed, hot & sweaty, and never bothered to treat the gas with stabilizer will attest to the poor storage quality of gasolene.

Test reading adjusted "gas of the day" from a nearby station seems to be the fair way to handle the funky manufacturor additive problems.

Dave you'll have Andy Anderson to rub up against and as long as he doesn't go Broke Back Mountian on you you should be OK. Keep him away from the cheap beer. Were is the B ride you love so much. Fast Eddie ends some one to rub against. Going the other direction with my step child Brian. Mikey!!!!

The B is missing parts due to a rod that wanted to see the outside world. Working on it, just not enough time and $$$.
As for Andy, I know how his A boat is attracted to mine. He can fill you in on the details from Oshkosh, but let's just say I gave him more than three lanes and he still had to hit me. Redecking the old boat just for the occasion!

Yes it is Dave. I found that the MN Street Rod ASSN. has a list on the web of gas stations that sell non-refourmulated gas. There is a station close to me in Hastings that sells it.
