GREAT work Dennis! I can't wait to see the pics of this new system. Would we be able to put this system inside our turnboats, which are placed in the middle of the turns? Or, would there be a model to do this with? Just some questions.

Quick description of the new lights

      Joe,
Last year the prototype was designed to be mounted to the turn boats,
and had the colors of all the flags red, blue, green, and white.
The first test was at the Winternationals in Ocoee.
The results showed the previous lights were poorly visible because of using
white light forced through colored lenses. The daylight diffused the colors
and reduced them to just a flashing white light.
Then we learned that having the lights on the turn boats they were in the way when assisting accidents.

The new lights are floating bouys anchored just inside the entrance pins
of each turn, and are radio controlled. The only lights I suggest are Red
and Yellow. (Blue lights are cost prohibitive)
The new lights are LED and produce approx. 24 joules of light output.
They are mounted on a 1" alum tube mast attached to a float of about
32" in diameter. Approx. total weight is 20#'s and the mast and counterweight disconnect from the base so storage is easy and small.
Once I have the latest one constructed I will post pix here first for everyone
to see. Hope this helps eveyone picture what the new robot looks like.
