Jesup Winter Nationals was 4300 feet around the entire course. 400 feet wide. Straights were APPROXIMATELY 1522 each and corners were 628 feet around each turn. Franklin, PA was about 1500 each straight and about 600 foot wide course for about 4800 feet around the entire course. You need to account for having enough room to accommodate the start and enough width for racing.

The above dimensions are a decent starting point, but the most important issue is the quality of the water. Ideally you want a controlled body of water and while you can fit a perfect sized course on a big lake or river, the bigger the body of water the more prone to being blown out. Also, don't forget about pit space, a good spot to launch boats, and a location for the judge's stand.

Wind protection is very important, nothing more disheartening than to be blown out. We were at a bunch of races this last year and a few we had to wait for the wind to die down. So far in our 7 years at Grove we have not been blown out. This year we have a huge party planned with 25000$ spent on a festival in the pits, and $6,000 on prizes and tow . May have fireworks too, which will. Bump the spending nearly $40,000. Put it on your calendar June 12-13-14 Wolf Creek Park. Thunder on Wolf Creek.Grove, Ok. Places to visit while in Grove, F4 airplane, Harber Village, Lendonwood Gardens,Satsuki Gardens and get your teeth fixed at Grove dental associates. Course is set up on Wednesday night and Thursday the What's Up Doc? Boat barn will be open. Boats, motor and trophies on display. Website Thunderonwolfcreek.com
