Tohatsu D motor will not run

My guess is with symptoms that you describe, that you have bad or worn labyrinth seals between two and three. This allows the crankcase pressure to trade back and fourth. Also maybe a plug that is in the crank as well. This would also explain the slow down after time. I suspect a bet or out of round crank in that area, Steve

Finally found the reason motor will not run.. Tohatsu has lap seals inside the crank.....they wear out over time. Tim Fihn, a fellow D stock racer, spend hours working on my motor and discovered the problem. And, it is not fixable....you have to purchase a new crank. But.....lesson learned......if you have this issue in the future there is a solution. I want to thank all the people that have helped me with this thing this year. Again, thanx.

That crank is out of index. It slipped between #1 and #2.The labyrinth seals are not bad unless the main bearings next to them are bad. This crank is repairable
