Fred: Checked wiring from brain box to coils....everything is correct. Yellow: Good advice, will try that in the morning. Thanx

I see in your posts that you are choking the carbs after the motor is warm to no effect. ? have you tried this right after starting before it is warmed up.

How about the wiring from the stator to the brain box? If the input wires are crossed, it'll mess up the output too.

Have checked all the wiring several times....the Tohatsu has bullet connectors that are color coded. Have also tried 3 seperate ignition systems....still runs the same

My guess is with symptoms that you describe, that you have bad or worn labyrinth seals between two and three. This allows the crankcase pressure to trade back and fourth. Also maybe a plug that is in the crank as well. This would also explain the slow down after time. I suspect a bet or out of round crank in that area, Steve

Is your crank welded. Before I got my tohatsu it had a problem glazing cylinders not sure why it was doing it. I rebuilt it with new .30 wiesco piston and never had a problem again. After 4 years it still runs with the mad russian .

Thanx for all of the advice. Seals between 2 and 3 are ok. Crank is welded all three journals. looks like I need new pistons.....See you all at Hinton.

Finally found the reason motor will not run.. Tohatsu has lap seals inside the crank.....they wear out over time. Tim Fihn, a fellow D stock racer, spend hours working on my motor and discovered the problem. And, it is not fixable....you have to purchase a new crank. But.....lesson learned......if you have this issue in the future there is a solution. I want to thank all the people that have helped me with this thing this year. Again, thanx.

Is there a test for this? (short of disassemble/inspect)

That crank is out of index. It slipped between #1 and #2.The labyrinth seals are not bad unless the main bearings next to them are bad. This crank is repairable

Could crank index be checked quickly with a dial indicator thru the sparkplug hole and then marking TDC of #1, #2, #3 on the flywheel...?
