Primer is done.. It took more than I thought for a 12 foot boat and was a learning experience. I hope I have it dialed in for color.. Not use to these new guns for painting..

First color is applied.. Much better we got the sprayer dialed in now.. Will wait till tomorrow to tape off for second color..I will say this yellow is much brighter than the picture shows

Mike, looks nice! How did the paint spray out? Was it as you expected?

well today I did the clear coat but it did not go far enough so I have another can that will be here by 9 in the morning.. Compared to the stuff that requires reducer and hardeners this stuff is fantastic.. Plus if you strain extra into the gun you can just pour it back in to the can when done and use it next time.. No waste and the wife loves the new shade of blue.. Depending on how the sun hits it the boat looks blue or purple.. It sprays out easy and is really hard to make a run but it is possible.. Now I am working on the cowl so it will be ready to paint.. The other nice thing is this stuff dries so fast that you can put a second coat on by the time you finish the first go around.. Makes it hard for any nasty bugs to screw up the job.. Like I said the amount of colors to chose from is limited but they do have some nice ones..

Thank you for the update. Sounds like for the price this system is the way to go.

ok I just need to clear coat the cowl and reinstall the hardware but I was wondering who has a fool proof way of removing orange peel.. The clear coat dries so fast that I could not put the stuff on think enough to eliminate it without runs.. Would appreciate any advice.. Other wise this stuff is great.. I like the way it changes colors depending on the sun light

Try wet sanding with 1500 and then 2000. After that you can buff with a medium compound and then finish with a finishing compound or wax.

finished for now.. Will try final wet sand and polish after testing in two weeks.. Bummed that a motor I sent out to be tested in November will not contact me back so I figure it is history. Hopefully I can get the other two to run.. Its a terrible loss but we hope to get these two to work.. I feel like 2013 is carrying over to 2014
