Race for a Cure

On Sept 10th and 11th the Eastern Cananda Outboard Racing Club will be hosting it's final event, the 6th annual Eastern Ontario Hydroplane Classic. This year we will be donating the profit's (once we cover race expenses) to the Cancer Society. Each year we lose friends, loved one's and fellow racers to this disease, so why not come out and spend a great weekend of racing and at the same time help make a difference.
We have stock and mod classes scheduled, along with the J class. There is free camping for racers, in one of Ontario's most beautiful provincial parks with hookups and showers etc..... So if you are looking for a great end of season race to chase those last minute points or simply want to have a weekend of fun, then plan to head to Long Sault, Ontario and help us raise money to Race for a Cure.

This is a beautiful spot to race, and a great spot to spend an extended weekend. Free camping for racers with hookups and showers, Saturday night party, all the good stuff for a great weekend of racing.

we will also have "fly by's" for vintage outboards (only) on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am until 11:00am. Vintage drivers must be CBF or APBA members cost for the fly by's is $15.00 per day.

Thanks Bob for your hard work. I for one, am very proud to be apart of this race. As most of us know someone or lost a loved one to this. R.C. is smiling at you for your committment. I'll be there Fri. to help in any way possible.

Region 2, 'Triple Crown'

The upcoming race at Long Sault, ON is the first of three sucessive weekends of racing in the north-east, with FLRCs Crystal Lake, and the new SORA site near Albany, coming right after. Smart racers, or at least those of us retired, and with time on our hands, stay over at the Long Sault Park for the week, taking advantage of the fall rates, and move on to C'Lake [about 70m] Friday morning for testing. In fact, if one wanted, we could test at Long Sault during the week, as there are boat ramps in secluded little bays. Its also a short hop to Albany from C'Lake.
We can arrange to store your trailer in ON or NY then you pick it up the next
weekend, if u really need to drive home
So, if you think you are fast, there is 2400 points available/class in two weeks of easy racing.

Here is the scoop on the breakfast and suppoer for Long Sault

Breakfast is served at the Chalet in the park beside the pits, open at 7:30 new caterer running the show and the food is great. She even has a Hungry boat racer special for $6.50 cdn that includes eggs,sausage, bacon, ham potatoes and 4 slices of toast. The regular breakfast is $4.50.

Our Saturday night party in the campground is going to be a spaghetti feed for $6.50 includes huge plate of spaghetti, bread and a salad. It's a bring your own beverage meal.

We will have the camp fire, so the racers can sit around drink beer and tell some tall tales.....

A big thanks to bob, doug, bruce, diane, lise and all the organizers of this race, as well as those who showed up. for those who missed this race it was great racing weather on saturday and decent racing on sunday. lots of good battles and overall great racing. also thanks to christian that does the cbf website for the great photos. i had lots of fun and i hope all that attended had as much as me
