Sponsorships 101! It's the key to racing!

Carlos Kuri & many more, I could go on and on with a list of several drivers. Connections/Sponsorship as long as they fork over cash who cares what you call it. One of the best OPC Sponsorships of all times was pulled off right here in my backyard by Mike Herman of Baltimore Maryland. Mike was able to pull off the Lowenbuar Six Pack Team. I forget all the guys names but just to name a few there was Don Jenkinson, Paul Heathmen, Harley Wislon, Bill Silvey etc. so it can be done.

there has not been a year in the last ten that i haven't run with at least two sponsors on my boats. no, it's not the thousands i used to get a few years back, but i've learned there are many local guys that will participate with this stuff, if you make it affordable, and fun. my sponsors get a kick out of coming to a local race with their freinds and family to watch a boat they help support!!!! also on my end with the growing costs involved in doing what we do, to be able to buy a couple drums of fuel, a couple cases of oil, and some travel $$$ really helps me out!!! the thing most people don't realize is that these folks figure in a sponsorship budget each and every year. they'll give it to someone else if you don't ask for it, why not ask , what does it hurt?? just my two cents i just nailed down a completely sponored paint job the other day, paint, labor and all, something that would have easily cost me a few hundred dollars, and many hours of my time!! kevin martin

This lack of legitimate sponsorship you speak of must be an American problem only.

I guess it must be an American thing.
