I suspect the rule in the Stock Rules was implemented to prevent such an occurence. Maybe someone here can give us all a history lesson on the timing of all that...

I was gonna let this alone, but here is an opinion. If a petition is not sent in by EVERY person who drives the class, it should be voided. If they did not get one you guys should never be allowed to race again. EVERYONE in the class should have a say so. Do the due diligence, otherwise you are leaving yourselves open to the same old same old clique where the new comers leave your organization becasue it is the same old boys calling the shots and winning the races.

Dave thanks for your opinion but that is one crazy way to look at it.

First, it’s a petition, not a ballot. I have never heard of any petition in the world that if everyone didn’t send it back it’s voided. If someone does not support it then they just don’t sign it and send it in???? Thus killing any petition, so then nothing happens????

The 30% just gets it to go to ballot. Remember this is a member organization, whether we all want to believe that or not. These rules were put in for us the members, these help protect us.

Anyone who races the class does get to voice their opinion, it’s called a vote. The majority wins.

Oh and everyone in the class would have got a petition mailed to them, but APBA will not give a mailing list out without the chairman’s approval. The Stock Chairman chose to not approve such list therefore we had to google all addresses and the ones we found were sent one. It was also given to all SORC members to send to who they saw fit.

I am not surprised that APBA would protect the confidentiality of its members. Unfortunately The Chairman, The SORC and APBA has to concern itself with the whole category and all of the APBA members. They have to try an fit all the moving parts.

I am surprised that you felt entitled to have access to all of the drivers/members private information.

Remember years ago we used to get roster book with all the information in it? Remember a few years ago you could buy it? I think we all complained when they stopped. Shame on APBA for giving that information out

Private information? With the world wide web you really think it’s all that private. Problem is that sometimes you get multiple hits as you can see below for your name.

Maybe just accept the fact that the rule is there to protect the members, we chose to use said rule, you don’t like it. That’s fine, we are not all going to agree on everything. As a matter of fact, the only thing we could probably get everyone to agree on is, how much we all love this sport. Mike and Don: I ran 20ssh several times this year. Why was I not sent a ballot? I mentioned several times in this disscussion that I did. All you would have to do is go to the highpoint standings and there I am. At least make it fair guys.. If it turns out that you just sent the ballots to people that you thought would vote your way I am gonna raise holy hell....count on it. Dave

Dave, as I have said several times. We sent them to everyone we could find a us postal address for.

I have posted several times on here that if anyone wanted one I would send them one. I have had several people take me up on that offer.

You, along with every other SORC member were also emailed a copy.

So I suggest you open the email I sent you and read the petition.

Also, sense you don't get it after 350 post, It is not a BALLOT!!! There is nothing to vote on. If you don't support it you have nothing to sign.

Dave............as a Commissioner you should understand that the PETITION is only a effort to bring the issue to BALLOT at which time APBA will be compelled to mail it to EVERY bonified 20ssh class member per APBA by-law to vote on. You may want to verify APBA Headquarters has your correct mailing address for when the BALLOT is mailed to you for voting purposes.
