I have only ever tested at 58 mph once. How do you plan on getting 8mph out of a rig? Sounds like the parity committee is going to be busy with all this data.

Parity between a 15ci and 20ci motor will never happen.

Legalize the 20ci Hot Rod and put a restrictor in that. Then you'll have something close to parity.

When my Merc 30H was kicked to the curb in 1991 by the SORC to make room for the Yamato 102, we moved forward with the new and available engine for the class and look how strong the Yamato classes are today.

Sometimes you just have to throw out the ole shoes when they just don't fit anymore and buy a pair of new school Croc's!!......... just sayin.

The 302 is an well engineered engine to be all 100% equal for the races in Japan. That's why it makes such a good stock engine.

The Sidewinder has a very poorly engineered intake system! THAT WILL NEVER RUN CORRECTLY!!!!

THE ENGINES SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM STOCK RACING UNTIL THE CARB IN PUT IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE AND ALL CURRENT OWNERS GET FREE REPLACEMENT PARTS TO UPGRADE THERE ENGINE TO FRONT CARB DESIGN!!!

IT IS FOOLISH TO PUT ARE SPORTS FUTURE ON THE SHOULDER OF AN UNREIABLE ENGINE THAT DOES NOT RUN RIGHT AND IS VERY HARD TO KEEP TUNED.

NO NEW PERSON WOULD EVER GET INTO RACING WITH THE BULL SH!! THAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO KEEP ONE RUNNING.

I'm interested in getting back into 15/B runabout. At this point what I need to complete a motor is a new powerhead. I know where to call for a new Sidewinder powerhead, where do I go to find a new Hot Rod powerhead? Also, how much does the new Hot Rod powerhead cost?

I fully agree a newly produced readily available engine is necessary. But for $4500 it should run right and consistently. That's what the Yamato and omc did and why they are successful.

how many BIG manufacturers 2 stroke engines (outboard and motorcycle) do you see with side mounted intake and carbs???? If they thought it would work, then it would have been done........as they definately have the R&D $$$ to try it....

I remember hearing about Ron Anderson (Mercury Racing V6 engine builder and GURU) looking at a Sidewinder and the first thing he said was.............it will NEVER work with that intake/carb setup..............

I still have not seen a Sidewinder run great CONSISTANTLY..........maybe they should have been in the PRO Division..........I am not bashing the SW, but it needs to run reliably.....SO racing depends on it......otherwise those members will be lost...
