Thanks Art, points taken. I note that in Europe 125s & OSY 400s use same hulls. Would a US 125 work for an OSY 400 if its dimensions and weight fell within the OSY 400 parameters? Lester.

I have an idea to build a Hydro with a 44H or Tohatsu engine for attempt
on the Water speed record
I raced hydro in the early 70,s when there was 15 boats in the field
then came noise problems , we had to water inject the pipes (mega phones)
I remember in the 70,s a boat from NZ came over ,in ran in the Queensland Titles , it had a Chrylser 140 race engine with open pipes
I guess that was the start of my love affair with outboard Hydro,s

If your going to buy plans from overseas spend a little more on AIRMAIL
Anything from Sorosen,s I ,ve bought has taken a month or more to get here in Australia
He said he has posted a DVD some 3 weeks ago , still has not arrived

Russell, you mention Konigs and Quincys. If there is enough of the old alky-burning equipment to be found in-country, maybe a class or two using that gear would actually be the cheapest option. Konny may be able to supply new parts for the old Konigs. Ask Paul Christner about Quincy parts. Keep it cheap for a while by not allowing new engines, and by using 2-blade props and homebuilt boats.
