      Ethafoam

IMHO this is the best there is. It is closed type foam and does not absorb water. Was first introduced to it in the early 70's by Bob Rhoades and Jim Daniels in a R&D Hydro I purchased from them. I always used white which will get soiled, but I think they have it in other colors now.

Foam Products in the STL area handles it and probably their other stores in the US also. I comes in about 6" thick sheets and they "slit" it with a hot wire on a large layout table. I managed to find the foreman there and he used to give me the scrap stuff left from slitting it for N/C. as they just threw the scraps out and you could pick it out of the dumpster as long as you asked nicely.

Perhaps if you have a Foam Products place near you, you might get lucky also.
