Well, as you all know, we did not run the 302 at Delaware, so Deck Racing will be bringing 1 if not 2 302SSH to Grass Lake on Sunday May 19th to break them in and test around noon.
As of right now, we don't have a test wheel to break the motors in due to the factory shaft.
Also, the wheels made by Brinkman rub up against the nose cone so if you have a 302, we turned the motor over by hand several times, tightening the prop nut each few turns until the prop shave the cone for us.
We then (much to Mark Wheelers shock who banned me for 30 days before getting an explanation of what we were doing) started the motor away from the pits with the wheel to let it finish the machining, and then I will take some emery cloth to smooth out. So if you have your motor and wheel, take a look and do this before a race.
Since we didn't run them, I am going to go document with video and GPS what this class will be like. I plan on having a boat cam, head cam, and shoreline footage as well as GPS readings, and if I get done soon, a GPS log showing acceleration curves.
Here's to a new class!
I did have several new drivers express interest in this at Delaware, so once we get them out, this will be a valuable asset to get some new blood in the sport, as well as have some fun among ourselves!
