Sidewinder results since 1 3/4 inch depth?

What are the recent racing results of sidewinders in ASH since the required 1 3/4 inch depth requirement? What is the parity committee doing with the recent changes?

I have just finished building a new Hemp hydro and finally did some testing this weekend with the sidewinder. I have found about 2 mph difference between 1 3/4 and 1 3/8 inch depth. Is this the typical results? Comments please.

The two major results I know of are a sidewinder won the SE and NE divisonals in ASH.

Yes but the OMC powered boat hit a bouy and was DQ;ed in the first heat and won the second heat at the NE Divionals just say in

          The eye test doesn't lie.

The SW ASH is smoking the OMC's in region 6.

And there's a New York SW rig that I saw run that is blazing fast as well.

Not a commentary either way...just the facts.

Just like the SW 20ci in BSR/BSH is much faster than the 15ci Hot Rod.

Where was this race at? I was not aware of any Stock Outboard Race in Region 10 since Cullaby Lake.

                Roostertail Race

I believe there was a Whitby Island Roostertail race last weekend they are refering to (not SOA) - Ron M can confirm.

You are right Shane, It was a non apba race but the setup was with the new heights of the engine.

Thanks for the clarification. I forgot about the W.I.Roostertail races. Who was the Sidewinder driver/owner?. What class was this run in?

They really seem to have the Sidewinders dialed in.

The first 5 out of 10 boats in ASH at Grass Lake were running Sidewinders.

I'm not as clear on the ASR facts. They had just as many boats, but I don't think as many SWs. I believe Grant Hearn may have won 1 heat...not positive.

I would definitely put my $$ on a SW powered ASH winning Nationals.

Yes Kyle, you are correct. I had a lot of fun with this new boat. Norm Coote and I had an AXH with Merc and ASH (New Hemp hydro) with SW 15s. We did a side by side start across the line to begin the race, SW on the outside lane. All was well and it was much fun. There were erratic run issues(call that carburation problems) which allowed Norm to pull ahead. Once that settled out I started to gain on him until a huge gust of wind picked us both up. Norm survived. I did not and got tossed out and lost the helmet visor. Boat stayed upright. BUT in the testing period there was one run at 56.4 mph at 1 3/8 inch height. The 1 3/4 inch height speeds are slower. I Cannot tell if the runs were wind assisted. However, I can truly say that it was an exciting ride as the fastest speed I ever obtained before with other equipment was 52.5 mph.
