I bought some for the Oroville Nationals. Found them on E-Bay.
The buoys are made in China but are very good. Course if hit by a prop they will deflate. They have a great inflate/deflate valve. They also sell a inflate/deflate pump that is small. No need for a shop vac.
they stock many sizes. I bought the 48". Also try SportsmansGuide.com They stock at times the bounce balls at a very good price. kwik-tek 20 in Red or Yellow $18.00 eaLast edited by bill boyes; 02-26-2013, 02:35 PM.bill b

Why doesn't our racing organization "APBA" make a buy of these bouys or arrange for the clubs to purchase at a discount from the supplier? I beleive this has been sugguested before. Wouldn't it be sensible for APBA (our member club?) to offer this to it's member clubs? They could even have "APBA Racing" imprinted on the bouys. Maybe even derive a small profit from the sale. How about adding it to the APBA Store?

Because It Cost To Run Last

Winner will be back anyway. The guy that finishes 4th, 5th or 6th may not be back. If they get tow money, when they stop at McDonalds on the way home they say, "Wow, I'm buying this Big Mac with my tow money." Been there, done that...Tow money is good.
In 1997 when we ran the P.R.O.P Tour we knew if we started the main even, we got $1,000. When the receipts were counted, that grand was always nice.
What classes ar schedule for you June 4-5, 2013 race?

Classes at 'Thunder in the Park"
We run NBRA classes which combine some motors;A hydro, C stock , C mod hydro, C mod run. D run and hydro, E run. and hydro, SE run and hydro. The Novice class. We will run other classes if five or more show up, but usually we combine to make a bigger field. When you are trying to put on a show, we hate to run three boat heats....The legal C mod runabout motors are 302,202,102 with any exhaust, Y80 any exhaust, 22 omc, 20 hot rod and they run at different weight requirements. Here in Grove, we just finished the Bassmaster classic where the winner won one half of a million. We can put on a great show for a fraction of the cost....

high point trophy at Grove Ok.
Most drivers do not want a cash award for the high point driver. We will have a really nice trophy instead. As each class winner stands on the podium, he or she will hold the trophy for photos and reconigtion. At the end of the weekend, the final shot will be the high point winner on the podium. We will hold the most expensive door prize to give away and this should hold the fans to see the award. We do plan to give cash prizes to select classes that I am able to get prizes for....if you want to give cash for a select class winner then let me know.

Ron nailed it, the boats that finish behind the usual suspect or suspects pay the same entry fee, pay the same price in fuel to get tothe race, pay the same amount for lodging, pay the same amount for eating, and pay the same amount to have fun as the winners do. Without these boats that don't finish first, you have no race. They are more important to a boat race than any rig that wins consistently. This is where you have to reward people, for showing up and spending the same money as the usual winners do. If you pay the winners all the time, and don't take care of the rest, they soon depart. And that is fact. I have seen it in both the NBRA and the APBA.Dave Mason
