Destiny is a matter of chance,it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

ok well with all that said - can anyone give me an exact # on the radius arc or curve that they are supposed to be rounded off to ???? - if there are no exact #s , specs or dimensions then technically my current sponsons are already "rounded off"

1 inch radius. If you view the diagram that is in the rules for Mod and PRO you will have the appropriate dimension.
Representatives from all regions sat down together and discussed this. We did it in the name of what we, the commision thought was best for our members. Of course, that it would be best for all our members is surely a pipe dream, but we tried anyway.
Sorry to those that are so upset about it. Mark

              Mark,
Now a JSH is uniform with a DSH regarding sponson tips; although the size difference in the sponson doesn't allow for a structurally significant repair option with the JSH.

What problem did you solve with the JSH?

              What makes this change necessary?

What makes this change "best for our members"?

I hope the APBA insurance carrier is reading these threads and the repairs being advocated by the "boat builders"!

                JT,
This is the gotcha with the little boats. Good thing you have a runabout too...they haven't imparted their wisdom on that boat style yet.

                See ya in Hinton!

P.S. The 1" radius requirement turns Sam's hydro into some sort of mongoloid shovel-nose hydro.

                  That 1/2" is now 3/4"

Stock Outboard is all about a level playing field.

True parity is one motor per class.

It's RACING, not just another boat ride!

And I can cut the boat back to the transom and never get to 3/4"...but as long as it "was done for the best of the members", it's all good with me. This decision took three of my boats out of racing and I'm not going to engage in some half-assed repair in order to placate an uninformed leadership. Runabouts from here on out...until they screw them up too.

Sorry for sugar coating this folks.

Is anyone from American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services, Inc. following this?

And a member of the APBA brain trust speaks up. I recommend YOU buy stock in Viagra...or Playtex; the choice is yours.

At no time during the discussion did anyone suggest"Man, this is really gonna screw Hafer ". Or I may have voted differently. There are a lot of hydro people on the commission and nobody mentioned that this was going take all your boats out of racing. I think the idea was conformity across the Mod/Stock/PRO divisions. I am a runabout guy, but believe it or not I was asked, by this commission, that I am certain has only one goal in mind, to run stock racing into the ground as hard as possible, to vote on the issue. Or maybe also the mission of seeing how much people we can piss off. I guess I can now be like big Don and have nobody like me either.

Hafer, As I sift through your BS this looks like an excuse you have been searching for to quit racing.

It's a good thing only my boats are affected! I feel better now.
