Love the display, but would in my personal opinion love and prefer to see these engines run. Running them gently once or twice a year doesn't risk anything, these things were built to last a hard hard season.

If anyone is in the Northern New York area, we are having a meet with several old hydros/runabouts and mercs (open exhaust, closed exhaust) and other engines.

Would be a great venue to take some of these engines that might be sitting around and run them.

Short notice but the meet is in Schroon Lake, NY this Sunday the 16th.

Would love to....but gave my boat away about 8 years ago....Don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, mags and carbs need to be gone through.....Planning on doing that in the near future. As far as running them....no problem! Would love to see how they would compete today.

I just drove a boat past your house this morning? (Across from Cocktail Cove?) I shot you a private message last week, but maybe you didn't read it? I might/probably have a filler block for you. Also, Steve Litzell is an accomplished outboard racing machinist and is "sort of" local (Marietta).

Coady--- What a beautiful display of motors and trophies. I remember you running back in the 70's-80's.. I think you mainly ran against my dad and it was before I started racing and then I began primarily in the runabouts. Thanks for sharing the photos and memories. I wish i would have seen this earlier and had you come to the APBA Nationals in Alabama since it was not to far away from you.. We had some good racing that I think you would have enjoyed. Keep in touch and maybe we will see you at a race.

Rick----thanks for the message. I knew about the race in AL and had intended on going. Something came up that prevented me and if I remember correctly, the weather wasn't real good. I bet it turned out to be a great race though.

I do remember you along side you dad. Your dad was ademant back then about making the sport safer. That was a good thing back in the 70's.

Coady I remember you were at Kingston Tn in the late 70's . I still have a pic you sent me of Mike Doran and me side by side in the turn we were so close it almost looks like one boat and not two this was in E MOD (44) at that time.

Danny, we had a good time in Kingston, TN. I believe that was Ted Meredith that sent you that picture. He's the photographer/mechanic/pit crew/etc...By the way, if you were running E MOD, you had your hands full if you were running against Dale Hull.
