I have two really important questions to ask:

First what is the preferred beer back there??

Second is there a place really close by with ethanol free gas??

I think the first question is the most important

          Long course nationals

I did not think it was only going to use one qt of West System to glue L-7 back together. What it turned out to date was it has taken two cases of beer in this 97 degree, 100% humidy weather. As it stands now we will have 1 7/8 boats there. Right now the main beam went back very good and tomorrow we will see how the west system holds the cockpit. The next issue will be to rebuild the stearing deck area and then make a new cowl. After that the air dam and sponson hole will finish the wood work. Maybe some quick dry white and were good to go. I expect that the boat will be at least 20 pounds lighter.

Doc and Art: got the runabout out of the rafters yestrerday and am thrashing trying to make it presentable. As of now, I am bringing it. John Mathews has agreed to be the guinea pig. I have not run this boat at all. have not even hung the motor on it. should be interesting...

Repairs should go fast since I bet you are not having to wait long for the West Systm to go off in the heat!!

                      C Mod Runabout

Last night returning from Depue, Il. we purchased a C Mod runabout from Dave Hoffman who will bring it to Centrailia from Coral Gables, Fl. Those who are bring C R are Cliff Johnson, Indianapolis, In., What's up Doc? Team, Grove, Ok.Joejohn from Texas and Sammy Sanders of Hoffman, Il.. Now, if I could encourage Charley Holman to bring out the mean Green we would have five. A C stock runabout is legal C Mod. Alan Van Whele has a strong C Mercury, if only he had a runabout. Is there other C Mod runabouts out there. I saw two Gesler runabouts for sale in the Full Throttle. Brand new and worth the money. Art Kempen purchased another runabout this weekend, but don't know his plans for that boat.

                                L-7 Repair

We have been making progress on the L-7 weight reduction program. I never realized how much beer it takes to repair a boat in the South. Today we will start the cowling repair and hope to have all the wood work done by tonight. Then a little paint maybe) and then rerig the boat.
