If you make it to Lucas your fuel costs will be a lot less than if you traveled to another event outside your region... remember, you get tow money based on the miles you drive to the race, not a flat rate.

Do they take into account how many races you enter from boats on your trailer? Like 1 boat and 4 races compared to someone who brings 5 boats and races 20 times?
Also there are other considerations like taking time off and my GF has relatives just outside of Lock Haven, so she would rather go there if we could only go to one.

Tow money is to help with the price of fuel to get your equipment to the race..Nothing more

I understand that but I was wondering if it made a difference if one person brought a trailer and only raced 4 times and someone else raced 20 times with the boats on the trailer he brought.

The second guy would have a lot more entry fees but it would not effect how much tow money you got

As I understand it, you can run almost any LOCAL CLASS under NBRA, correct?

If you have a class that is not normally one of the NBRA classes you can make a request for that special class when you apply for the sanction..

OK, I'm caught up on all the posts.

If you don't want your thoughts posted you can always PM me or send me an email apba113@aol.com

It would be nice to get opinions / insight from the SORC, MORC, & BOD members on why why/not....

From what I have read on the few that have taken the time to respond (and I appreciate all the comments) here is what I think I will attempt to do, and in my opinion this will be for the 2013 racing season.

                  1. Push forward and hard at combining Stock & Mod into 1 category. This push would not change any of the classes at this time (that would come later as needed)

                  2. Come up with a plan for Commissioners as to how many would be elected to new category.

                  3. Fix the rule book to combine the rules and make 1 set for the new category

                  4. Take this to the BOD for Nov. 1, 2012 implementation

                  Future goals would include, but not be limited to;

                  A. Work with HQ on finding a less expensive Insurance alternative

                  B. Review, evaluate, and set criteria for a POSSIBLE class reduction to help shorten the day

                  C. Perhaps convince the BOD to provide a written rule book (on 8.5 x 11 paper) with your initial paid membership. This rule book would be with the rules as they are, as of a particular date, then the member would be responsible for "updating" their rule book (loose leaf format) as rule changes are made / implemented.

                  D. Get Propeller back to a racer's magazine and work on finding a lower print cost to get it back into our mailboxes.

I think thats enough to keep us busy for a week or 2 so that's it for now.....

Comments / Questions / Concerns on this direction????

Any Chance of Seeing An APBA Balance Sheet?

The majority "WISHES" of Howie sounds like NBRA.....

APBA hired "CROWN PARTNERS" to do everything, how is that "CHANGE" working?

APBA owes how much? How much has it paid Crown Partners?

Will APBA be the next Stockton or San Bernardino???

One Saturday night years ago this drunk came up to me ( as I was drinking beer) and asked me to give him a $500 check made out to Mike Lundy for Rob Cottons 25ss . Seems that he was buying everything Mike had for $5000, needed a deposit and Mike wouldn't take a check from him. I knew Rob had sold him the engine so I said sure.

That engine ran well and I was told that it was one of the first Mercury put out and was "special". I didn't know whether that was true and I never looked inside ( no need- this was a real stock motor; run it for years) so I never saw the ports.

Is it possible that I had something special and was too stupid to know?
