  • 2012 NBRA Ethanol Series Race

    NBRA Ethanol Series
    Comes to
    Trout Creek Montana
    August 24th, 25th & 26th, 2012

Montana Outboard Racing Association in tandem with NBRA invites you all to participate in an NBRA Ethanol Challenge Series Race at beautiful Trout Creek Montana. Put it on your calendar today and come and join us for the festivities. The dates again are August 24th, 25th and 26th, 2012

There will be tow money offered to make the trip. The more sponsors we get for the race, the bigger the pot will be.

There will be opportunities to compete for straightaway records on Saturday and Sunday mornings (1/8 mile & 1/4mile) prior to regular racing.

Great race site in a little town that really likes to host us. Boat show complete with awards on Friday evening after a day of testing. Saturday evening the Naughty Pine Restaurant and Bar hosts a BBQ for the racers and families, (basic meal is free, you can upgrade to additional choices for a minimal cost) live music and dancing. Awards presentation after the conclusion of racing Sunday at the Lakeside Resort and Motel banquet room.

Look for more information to come over the next couple of months. If you are going to pencil us in on your schedule give us a shout and let us know so we can kind of get a feel for the classes that you want to see and remember we need three boats to make a class.

Pro boats will be welcome as a special event if we have (firm) commitments from three or more racers.

    Montana

    Hi Mike,
Marked the date for the trip. The mileage from Lake Charles LA is only 2,228miles one way. We will race C,D,and E MOD hydro and maybe a couple other classes. The way I look at it we will require 3 days there, 3 days back and 3 days of racing. Sounds like a great summer vacation. Maybe you can get a run in the new C MRC you did for us this past summer. Looking at the photos from your last years event I am sure it will be a great place to race.

      Long way from Texas but...

the wife is on board with taking our summer vaction in that area. We could spend some time in one of the national parks up in that area and catch a couple days of boat racing too....sounds like the perfect vaction to me.

I can't wait to meet some new faces to add to our racing family! I love learning new things too; can't wait.
Bummer that we have to wait so long (for the race) 9 and a half months to be somewhat precise.

Dennis, Yellowstone would be on your way (8 hrs from here); Glaicer National Park is about 3 hours, and the Tetons aren't far away either. However, I have to say all of Montana is like a national park, very few people and lots of animals. Elk, Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Big Horn Sheep are all easy to see here. Then there are fox, coyote, wolves, mountain lions. Wild Turkey (not the bottled kind), Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, and Osprey usually seen daily.

You won't regret making the trip! Do you RV or Motel?

Alan, that is certainly along road trip. As I remember you motorhome it don't you. You won't regret making the trip some of the best scenery in the world here in Montana. I am hoping that your son will get to come and race that MRC, maybe set a record or two with her.

IF I can set up some rigs to drive for anyone. I may even make the trek. Or see if I could meet up with someone and make the trip with them. I'll bring the driving suit just in case someone needs a driver as usual. Heres to high hopes of celebrating my birthday at a boat race in Montana. *crosses fingers*

As far as fishing goes... What's the rules on towing a line behind us while racing? 0.o Puts a whole new meaning to fly fishing lol.

I think that would be considered snagging and I dont think they cover it in the regulations..

If anyone has some extra time after the race we could do some flyfishing for sure..We have a great river close to Thompson Falls..

                            Congratulations To All

                            Mike Et All,

Congratulations to you and the NBRA folks for getting this to happen.

I maybe will just have to put together a Mod outfit and come join the fun.

                            See you in 2012.

We would love to see you and some fellow SOA folks..We are hoping to make a SOA race again this year. We have made it to at least one race for the last 4 years.

Would like to add that this location is only two hours from Spokane.. Also since NBRA has no straightaway records you could be the first.. We are also working on more sponsors so that we can add to the tow money.
