Not only did the clubs get free insurance but they also recieved $1,500 for each race from NBRA to assist in tow money for all of the races. And to those of you on this thread who there is competition in NBRA or that we are a cut rate APBA, I would love to see you come to some of our races and take our prize money and points since you guys are way better drivers and have way better equipment then we do. I am sure you would dominate!!!!!!hahaha!!!!
Kieth, I don't understand your defensiveness, man. Who is saying NBRA is cut rate or that the competition is second rate? I've thought for years you guys have a good thing going. I've often wondered why our races don't have money like yours. Then I turn on the TV.

The fact is that NBRA and APBA generally operate in different parts of the nation. There are drivers who run both or switch organizations, then there are the majority-those who stay were they are. Some people run NBRA, some APBA, who cares? It's preference, or just habit, whatever. I don't understand the hostility-from members of both organizations-on this website sometimes. Cannot APBA and NBRA co-exist?

      Nbra

If you look through the thread and read the posts you will see that there are some comments about APBA being the premier organization with the best drivers and equipment, or look for Walmart vs Costco comparison I just think some drivers should open their eyes and realize that there are other options out there. We have worked very hard to make NBRA what it is and I do get offended when people say that we do not have the competition of the other organizations. Espescially by drivers who have never been to a NBRA race.

            who cares?

who cares what organization you race with, as long as you are having fun!!! I can see the PROS and CONS of all the different organization, but we are all the same people that just wanna race our little boats!!!

as to the added fee to join APBA this year, whoppty flippin doo............hell, its barely the price of a case of beer and we all know there is a lot of beer drinking done by boat racers, so it will probably be good for you to cut back on 1-2 cases of beer this year.............

get over it and move on...........the shop is calling your name, as the next racing season will be here sooner than you think (well, S.Cal is already there)..................

PS: the added cost to race in APBA sure makes up for it in insurance, once you sustain a major injury racing, you will fully understand.................

also, I believe I stated this before, but if you DO NOT have a primary insurance provider, you better reevaluate your racing program, just in case you do sustain a major injury............

Very well said. When the spray has settles the main goal is to race boats and have fun. We are in this all together for the fun of it..None of us are depending on this for our livelyhood..If you are then you will be living on the streets under a cardboard box real fast.

Later when the three years are up and nothing is improved then you can say I told you so..And if it is a lot better then everone can find something else to ***** about.

Keith, I dig man. I'd be pissed too if a-holes were rippin' on my gig. Keep it up though man-our sport needs competition between organizations. I think we can all handle it-we're racers, aren't we?

Daren, right on man, good post.

I have always wondered; why do we punish ourselves with a $75 penalty to join APBA after February 28th? How about an extra 30 days if it's done online?

Do so many racers join late that the late fee is necessary?

Cheney, how many APBA races did you make last year? For a full season of racing the increase is very nominal, but if you can only make 3 races...$61.67 per weekend for an APBA license can make one think in this economy, just sayin'.

That steep late fee also hurts new folks that see a race early in the season and want to get started in racing.. I dont understand the reasoning on that one at all.. Its not like they have to bring folks back to the office just to do one application!!

                            late fee

the APBA late fee does not apply to new racers.
