It's more than just a website update, It's the entire computer system and software we use to do business. We only see the website portion.

            The Hearn Increase

            Chenney,

Do some searching on APBA website and here. Your answers are very obvious.

In short, Crown Partners is being paid a large amount of money to bring APBA into the digital age. That is the jist of it. To pay for it, they are passing along the costs to the members across all categories. Crown Partners is Richard Hearn's company.

Ya know you just implied that there is something fishy going on between Crown and APBA--any proof such a thing is going on,please show it.

Some always think they are being cheated--my experience is the accusers are the ones to challange

I think I've heard those words before......Let's see: www.hydroracer.net , www.boatracingfacts.com , yea, I've heard of the digital age....seems 37,000 people a month visit boat racing facts, and their average viewing time is five minutes....

The increase is only suppose to last 3 years. Can we really not afford $25 extra bucks a year?! He'll that's not even a 1/3 of a tank to fill my truck up! Considering this is apba's first membership dues increase in forever....I say we can suck it up.

                        $$$$$$$$$$$

25.00 $ is not the only consideration . I also have a Kid now its 50.00 for us . Also we do not get a printed rule book, the printed copy of Propeller Magazine is being cut by 2/3. So far all I have seen is a new websight (that in my opinion ) is not as good as the 2 alredy available. It would be nice to have APBA show some results for a year and then ask us to pay for it. I personally had a problem with APBA that was not resolved to my satisfaction . I met with the APBA president in person and could not get the result I think I am due over a $ 45.00 matter. How can I feel comfortable backing a $450.000.00 outlay ?. Shawn

Pat -- I respect your thaughtse

Pat. As a roofer you know you cant do a good job if the deck is bad . I think the foundation needs to be repaired before we can get the product out to the people . I dont feel that Crown and APBA have done anything to get the members on board before making changes.

                              Product???

Just asking, but what "PRODUCT" is boat racing selling?????

At our Region 12 meeting, last Sunday, at my shop, we had a new member to boat racing, reluctantly come but I had threatened him within an inch of his life if he didn't come....

When the meeting started he whispered to me, "Where are all the manufacturers?" I laughed at him.........

The answer to boat racing's problems are getting manufacturers in the sport.........That might mean CHANGE in THOUGHT by the membership...

But what is boat racing selling??? Used boats and motors... Region 12 should have 12 A Stock Hydros this year......Every boat except Tammy Dawe and Jeff Conant's will have been owned by me, ordered by me or sold by me. I currently have two OMC "A" for Sale, 2 Mercury AXS motors for sale. I have four short blocks getting rebuilt (OMC), two OMC gear cases and I have anew Dawe A Hydro on order. I have arranged for space at the L.A. Boat Show for 12 A Hydros....

I'm selling A Hydro racing.....like I once sold 20 SS Hydro racing....Has APBA helped me??? No! Did I ask them? No. Have I made any money doing this? No! Am I having fun? Yes!!!

Electric starters, test rides, friends and mentors...New Dawe hydro is Dave Hale's...Brand new boat, brand new racer....Ken Knudsen watching...Ken will run Frank Zorkan's new ZA Craft at Parker, Thanksgiving with one of me Mercury AXS motors...

Way cool too, a lake 15 minutes from Disneyland that we can use every Wednesday after 4.....
