Aof.....nbra.........apba.......xyz?
Kinda funny that until about 15 years ago APBA Members that participated in 'rival' boat organizations were subject to a penalty by APBA!! Those penalties could be as stiff as expulsion from APBA for running 'wildcat' races as they were loosely refered toooo!!
It wasn't till Hearn's made a conserted effort to open up to other racing organizations finally realizing we are all boat racers and need to 'get along'.............i forget what meeting it was but i remember Steve Hearn and the AOF President at the time making a public display of unity which helped allow 'crossing over' from one organization to another easier. I believe when we ran at Pineville in 2005 (Winter Nationals Stock/MOD) APBA allowed NBRA/AOF Members to compete with us at a nominal fee!!...... I thought this was a great gesture to help open our arms to other boating organizations, whom after all are boat racers at the end of the day tooo!!
