Ok here is some live updates from the race. 84 entries for Saturday. It's 3:30 and we are starting the 4th flight. Great water with a little gusty wind. No wrecks or flips yet. Will try to post some results. Reply if you need to know who won what. Some impressive rigs. Peter Lauer won axr and won 3 out of 4 heats in A with his Merc. Pater sweep the 20 hydro in the 1V pavlick ride. C hydro was a toss between Pater and Miskerik. C runabout was all Pater. Grant Hearn won J hydro one day and jumped 2 heats for another day. We had 4 classes get a 2nd day of racing today. The marathon is yet to come. It is technichly the 5th set. Only 10 marathoners with 4 A's and 6 C's. Where are all the marathoners? Need to support the races. That's all for now. See ya Mikey

Update
Mike - You forgot the most important marathoner of that race.
Mr. Jack Deck (sp?) ran his classic Switzter Craft runabout with a KG7 in the marathon. All 20 minutes worth! Oh big deal you say? Jack is 75 years young and the last time he raced this boat in a race was in 1958! His biggest complaint after the race was all this new fangled saftey gear gets really warm when your racing. We never got that hot in the old days racing in our t-shirts and shorts. He had a smile from ear to ear that proved your never to old for boat racing !!!
Also a congratulation to Jerry Oberlin who traveled with his family from Jesup Ga. to race this race site. Jerry drove smart and finished first in "A" runabout. Great job Jerry!Last edited by Tomtall; 06-05-2011, 07:34 PM.Tom L.

For now...
Thanks so much to everyone who attended and helped at the Wendy's/MHRA Top Gun Series Opener. We certainly wouldn't have been able to do it without you. We sure wish we'd see more of you (especially Michigan racers) at an absolutely gorgeous race site. A lake that can easily withstand a 15-20 mph breeze, a sandy beach, top notch catered dinner by Lickety Split, beautiful campground, and one hell of a bar in the Barking Frog in Augusta... I can't see why you wouldn't want to race here!!
Highlights of the weekend must be to see 3 new racers get there first heats in (ages ranging from 14-75). Congrats to Jack and Mike Deck, and the Fox protege'.
Even after leaving the site at 6pm with everything packed and ready for Constantine, I'll try to post results tomorrow.
Thanks again to everyone who came to such a nice site.Elek Hutchinson

Ditto to all the above. For those who missed this event you missed a some of the best water ever. A special thanks to all the ladies who took care of registration, dinner tickets, T shirt sales and all your work.......it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Thanks,
Sam
