  • Pineville, Louisiana. Upcoming races. :)

I recieved word yesterday that due to the grass on Buhlow lake is starting to kill off rather nicely now, (I still plan to go see for myself in the next few days to be safe) that AOF is planning to have TWO more races in Pineville, LA. One July 8th - 10th, and then the other October 7th - 9th. Both races will be for both Drag racing and Kneelers. If I learn anything further I will keep everyone posted. My knowledge is coming from Billy Kropog "Preacher Man" and Carl Staron. Anyone plan to come? I know we can count on the whole Louisiana bunch showing up unless job scheduling, etc. become an issue.

        More Texas Racers

If they will be running the A class, we will be there with 2 boats. We also have 4 J hydros that would like to run if possible.

I believe AOF already has a J class and APBA A's are known as OSR/OSH IF I remember correctly.

              A & j

Whatever they are called, if they are running, we would love to attend one of your races. Please keep me updated. Both my kiddos are stepping up and need to run in this class. We always have fun at Bulow. Not to mention, we do not have to drive 1300 miles to go racing. We will bring 2 boats for sure. I'm trying to get the parents of the J drivers interested in coming if they will get to run. Also, let me know if any other races that you hold that are close to Texas. Thanks Mark for the kind words. Hope all is well. Mike

Words is... IF you bring it. You can run. I'm in the process of getting an updated AOF class sheet sent to me. So I can update what legal classes there will be.

Yes this race is being run under the flag of AOF. But honestly, that's more of a guideline to give us our rules and classes structure as well as to cover insurance cost. These races will more or less be about boat racing in general. Having a good time. These races are not FOR AOF, but for the fun to be had with your fellow drivers and crew on any given race weekend. So I personally would like to invite EVERYone to come out to support these BOAT RACES (Not AOF races.) The October race WILL infact have a title as a Championship. But that's still being worked out. Ofcourse that will be a AOF championship race of some sort. But once again, it's is being viewed as a BOAT RACE. Not an AOF race. Trying to take the focus off of who is putting the race on and just worry about racing itself. Whether these races are supported by many or by few. We will race either way. And the guys who show up will be able to enjoy a weekend on the fastest water in the country. Stay posted for more information. If you have any question. Please call me (my number is below) if you do not reach me. Please by all means leave a message and I will get back to you. Let's start as much talk as possible about these races. Invite anyone who would like to be a part of a good ole fashioned backyard boat race. Because that's what we are aiming for with this.

                  Hey Champ,

I'll be off for the July dates. I'll come down and help pit for someone if nothing else. I may even dig out my 44 and bring it down. I would like to go for a ride one more time before I sell it. Can't think of a better lake to take that last ride on.

I have to work the October dates so I won't be there for that one.

I suggest you join Lone Star - Boat Racing Club. New club in Texas. I joined up at the Texas race they had a couple weeks ago in Sommerville, TX. Mike Hauenstein has membership applications and is on this board. If you need contact info let me know. Might be a way to help build the numbers back up in TX so they can support more than one race a year. Also, I know the current members are always looking for someone to help out in securing race sites. Even if it is just an idea or something to check out.

Hope this helps. Have fun !!

Just a bump? Come on John you're much more creative than that...
How about all those stories we have heard about you and that great looking waitress at Tunks? Or was that uncle Randy?

That would be worth writing about...

That's one of the great things about racing Pineville... Going to Tunks for dinner.

                        The place is legendary.

As they say on "Swamp People"...See ya later aligator...

Hey just to let you guys know. The race at Pineville in July looks good. I have the Ambulance scheduled and I am sure the lake has been obtained for that weekend. The insurance should also be in order. Please call if you have any questions reguarding the lake. 225 573 6293.
