    why not sanction with NBRA?

      nbra sanction

The lake was messed up since last October and the local club down here did not want to put one on this year. I am a friend of Mr. Carl Staron. His local club is always eager to host a boat race and insurance is a lot cheaper than the NBRA. The lake is not doing well at all this year. The grass has gotten worse.

Seems that some guys wont race with the AOF because of something that happened a long time ago. I was not around then and dont really care. I have raced with both and I had fun with both. The AOF was an opportunity for me to race and not have to travel several states every time I wanted to go race.

I now have a yamato 102 and a Baker hydro, but I cant afford to travel this year. I wanted to make the Mansfield race, but I just cant do it.

We may try to do a race in October if the lake situation changes. If the local club down here in Louisiana wanted to and had the money to pay for the insurance, I would be glad to put it on with the NBRA.

        Pineville race

To all of you who were planning on coming to the AOF race on July 9& 10 in Pineville, I regret to inform you that I have to cancel because of the severity of the grass on the lake. If they ever get it under control this year, we will try again in October.

        Thanks,

              Upcoming boat races in Louisiana

I received a report this past weekend that lake Buhlow in Pineville, La is really getting better on the grass situation.

We are still planning a race in October with the AOF sanction. We also may race next year with the NBRA sanctioning body. The October date is to be posted later.

Also the Bogalousa Boat Club is hosting a drag race in Bogalousa on the Pearl River. The club has asked that maybe some hydro racers would like to come out and race a river course. The date is Sept 24th. If ypu pre register it cost 25.00 and if you don,t , it will cost 35.00. I think will a lot of fun as well as a challenge. I plan to go . There is also a couple of other guys who plan on going. So far we have the yamatos. I figure maybe Mr. Mark Daspit might would like to come down as well along with the Hawkins and who ever else would like to go.

If you can reach Randy Mathews I am sure he will have the Hawkin's phone number.

                            up coming race in Pineville

                            Hey Guys,

There will be a boat race held at lake Bulow in Pineville La on Oct 15th and 16th.
This is a national championship race. All cards are welcome and will be honored.

The race in Bogalousa La is not a national championship. We have decided to move the national championship to pineville ,because we were able to get the Lake back.

This is a race that will be sanctioned by the AOF.

                            Hope to see you there.

                              Pineville

We will be there with three boats. A MOD Hydro, C MOD Hydro and D MOD hydro. If they have a class for a four carb 44 we will run that also. Will there be testing on Friday? Also will the pits be open for camping? See you all up north.

                                race in Pineville

                                Mr. Alan,

I am pretty sure we will have the lake Friday for testing. I would imagine that a person could set up there camper also. I am glad you guys are coming out.
I will be racing you in the A class hydro, as well as the Heberts.

Word is also , that Mr. Ralph Cook will be coming as well. He has the D- Super E rigs. We also have word that some folks from Texas will be bringing a Super E or two. We will also have some C stockers as well. You may have someone to race in the C mod class if Mr. Daspit makes it down. If Mr. Randy Mathews gets his C mod fixed , and The Hawkins out of Texas also have a C mod.

                                Who knows what else?
