WOW, $409 a gallon ! That would be steep even for California !
I think it is about $4.15 a Gallon here (Higher taxes).

            Gas

All the stations here in Kirkland (where I live) went up 10 cents last night.....Reg gas is now $3.89, mid is $4.09, and premium is $4.29. Diesel is anywhere from $4.19 to $4.59. I sell fire safety stuff to a lot of stations, and a few of the owners have told me expect well over $5.50 for diesel and close to $5.00 for regular by memorial day. The owner of the Shell station here in town says he thinks diesel will hit close to $6.oo per gallon. He got 3 price changes in one day.....and cannot get out to the sign fast enough to change the price. Man....we are getting gouged so bad.......but then again, the oil companies could not care less if they wreck the economy, which they are doing. They are now complaining that they don't have anyplace to put all the money they are making. Revolutions have started over less.......

              Fuel Prices

Over here at $4.09 and climbing majority of stations have installed digital reader boards so they can change the price minute to minute. It had gone down 1 cent last week but up like 10cents yesterday. Maybe they should be required to go back to manual signs! At least it wouldn't be so easy to change the price.

Think I should send a can of Lyle's Golden Treacle with Mike!

Thought I would throw out that it freaking snowed here again last night about 1/2 inch but everything is white AGAIN! (26 degrees too)

Welcome to hydroracer, we hope you enjoy your visit.

I don't think its the oil companies as much as our government. If we could drill our own oil instead of having to rely on imported oil I think the picture right now would look a lot different

Studded Tires- Reported today in the Seattle Times, Studs are legal though April 7 due to snow at the higher elevations. So not to worry if you still have winter tires with studs.

                    Eatonville

Last time gas went over 4 bucks a gallon it did not seem to hinder attendance at most of the races....I sure hope people can scrape the money together to make it to Eatonville...Tony Perman has worked his butt off on this event. As far as the oil companies go.....I have to disagree with Mr Byrne....the majority of the oil drilled in Alaska goes to Japan, China, and Korea. (south) Very little of it makes it down to the west coast. My uncle on my mom's side worked for Standard oil for years....and finaly quite in disgust over their practices....during the first Arab oil embargo one of his jobs was to find storage facilities for all of the crude oil that was not being refined into petroleum products....he showed me pictures of WW2 era tankers lined up 20 deep in Anacortes filled to the brim with crude....the oil companies were holding it back to create an artificial shortage....he found it stomach churning to drive by gas stations with cars lined 100 deep waiting to buy fuel, sometimes only 5 gallons...when he knew what was really going on. Trust me...the oil companies and the speculators are laughing all the way to the bank.....when we get smart and start using natural gas to fuel cars and light trucks, of which there is an almost unlimited supply, we will have the last laugh. Sorry to hijack the thread....see you all Thursday evening at Eatonville.
