Thanks for the input. The motor I used to make the adapter is actually the 22cu not the 31.8 as I had previously said. Right now I want to know what motors and towers are the most popular. Then I can take measurements on all of them and get them into my Cad system.
So far I have a 22 and 31.8 motor and a Merc' Quickie tower. Then comes couplers and throttle kits.

For the 31.8 I've made a direct to carb link that is simple & has proven very dependable. The timing is spring loaded towards advance & the follower cam replacement plate has a 'start' notch at idle time for cold starts- pop a lever & it locks in at full advance. The throttle link is usable on a 22 but the magneto would be better locked down. Its crude handmade stuff that you are welcome to review & refine.

            lol, nice Mike.

I am very interested in this class and the power plants that go along with it. I have been trying to follow this and the GT PRO (OPC) class up north, I wish NBRA would put B1 together (or GT PRO). I am just a lakeracer, but wouldn't mind being competitive if the class took off.

we like pics, anybody have pics of the 22 or 31 on Merc towers? or the merc lowers with cones?

What about props Ron? I know there was discussion about props to fis the 5/8 shaft of the 22 lower, but I never saw any.

              B-1

I can provide the adapter to mount the 22 OMC onto a Quicky lower unit. The photos show the first one, I will make ten very soon. I also have the drawing of the 31.8 OMC. If drivers let me know what towers to mount on, I can make an adapter for that too. Still working on couplers...

The 31.8 does work well on a Bass unit even tho its built for much more, no problem reaching the R's the motor's meant to run.

PS.......This should also be the ticket for those (B-1 "Bomber" class) that want to run the 22 OMC on the Merc KG/KF-7 and KG-4 style and Wizard "Super-10" towers!.........And I think the same coupler from powerhead to drive shaft SHOULD werk!!!!!

It's a Baker Hydro. The previous owners just put their own custom front piece on it. It's actually quite the stable boat. I've driven the boat with a Y80, Y102, 25XS, and the 31 OMC and it stays pretty nice as far as the ride goes with each. It gets a TAD squirrly with the 31 though depending on water conditions.

[/QUOTE] I could see that it is stable in the vid, the roundish effect of the cam makes it look off some but you were turning with ease. The prop broke free for a split second but was no problem. Ive yet to run one of my 31.8 RaTs on a megaphone but by seeing this its sure to add new meaning.

This course was REALLY tight. I was quite surprized at how well the boat was cornering at these speeds. The yamato's were quicker on the straights. But the OMC was much stronger throughout the turns. Especially on the exit haha. Or so it seemed from behind the wheel atleast.
