The last we saw Carl was Sunday afternoon. He and his dog Chip were hunting wild water moccasins. Carl said he would cut every blade of grass until he found one. I told him he was crazy, that he was going to get bit. Carl said "When the moccasin bites me I will release my poisonous venom and kill the snake instantly." They don't make them like Carl anymore!

I know that thicket at Lake Apthorpe well, just to the right of the launch ramp. We used to run some good AOF races there, and one SAT a young 4' gator that meant no harm, was in that thicket. Most took no notice of him, but the northerners would not go in the water to race.
Carl went back to his truck, put on his hip waders,
and went in there after that gator with his 'weed-whacker' Not til about WED next week did the poor little gator come back.
