    What Proposals ?

    Steve,

Is there proposals already on the table for this ? Are they tough ? Help us out and spill the beans ! What do you know ?

I doubt the Mods are gonna simply add a new class to the structure as 25SSH/R. The typical commission is not real receptive to the idea of adding classes in my experiences.

      That's da point Dave.....as a 25XS/SSH owner/racer/promotor/fan,........... I don't KNOW WHAT ....TA ...........TINK!!!!!

No way we're gonn'a fit....restricted, in back of da pack of another STOCK class.

Maybe we're not "Real Racers".....but when dis class has it's act together,....It's usually a well run, exciting, show with
experienced drivers that spend twice the time WAIT'N in their rigs to go out.......than it takes for other classes to run......
      Point?................They "get-er-done"!

Just look at da STOCK OUTBOARD promotional add/tape/commercial....... Dana produced and see which class grabs yer eye.

I'm really tired of dis whole situation and hope others relate/understand?

25MOD is/sounds scared(?) of this motor.(and with 9 voters what are the chances of a chance?)
BMH is a "Yamato only"...... welcome class.........
CMH is a scarrie ride for these rigs..........
      DMH......HUH?

Going ta bed and hope in da morn'n it's just a bad dream......night...... night!

First. some might say this class has not had its act together scince the Merc Challenge days.

Dunno about what makes 'em real racers part.....they are jus as real as anyone else......if waiting around for your race to start makes you a real racer than the J drivers are as real as it gets

Here is the problem with 25XS in George Orwell terms......some are more equal than others. That inherently makes them not a fit into Stock Outboard.

Not sure how it fits into Modified though......write a proposal or float a trial balloon right here on HR.

Wait around alot and be dedicated to your motor of choice and you should get extra privledges seems to sum up your post?

              Bill (7F),

Iv'e enjoyed many conversations with you at Ocoee/Lock Haven/others.......

Like the C-MOD Merc you enjoy run'n from time to time......here's another engine group look'n at it's options in the progression from STOCK to MODIFIED to VINTAGE.......
so far....unlike yer C-MOD MERC/Wizard...which still enjoys a toe-hold/resurgence in C-MOD ....The 25XS In my "pee-brain" (Charlie Fry quote).....is only look'n at the boot (in it's current drivable/enjoyable form)......... to VINTAGE.......(Again...just MY sole frustrated paranoi-ya).

              (I'm not a 25SSH spoke's-person by any appointment for sure...just a scared/frustrated owner/racer).....

The point of this thread is >>>>>MY SOLE APPEAL<<<<<<<......... to the MOD Commissioners to consider...... IF....... the boot comes at the convention this Winter,........to let'n this engine run in 25MOD as a "Proto-type" or "probationary" with the current data from Mike Marshal and others who run both classes..Doc Miller/Mike Marshall are two of the current (9) drivers of the class that have show'd an alliance in the proposal in the STOCK restructure thread to this idea.....(there's no other place it would work/be welcome in my-sole opinion).........there's no ballot/proposal on the table......Just this sole begger's....beg/grovel....
Down the road.....If this idea would come to a proposal ...........it would go to a class ballot/vote...(and that's only if the "Big Kahuna"/Chairman limits a vote to class participants which this season IS-->>....(9) !!!!..)......Other wise it would go to the MODIFIED Membership?

I was one of several who help'd bring the old 25ss Merc/22 ci OMC's to A-MOD (in stock form)......has it help'd the class ?......well so far those new engines to the class have helped keep the class on the water at several race sites and has only made it to 3rd place at a National level event (the 2009 MODIFIED Nationals (me)......IF....one of them evers wins a National level event, I'm sure it will be debated.
Also the 20H commode has started to come back in AMR include'n a win at the 2009 MODIFIED Nationals at Zanesville...It was a great/exciting show...WHERE I BELIEVE IT WAS APPLAUDE'D BY THE REST OF THE CLASS AND EVENT PARTICIPANTS.

A-MOD is quickly rebound'n as a most popular MOD class.....Might not show yet in "bean-counter" numbers....but just watch the next few years.....!

Hope you've got'n a few good rides with your C-MOD Merc.....did my timing adjustment two years ago at Lock Haven help/hurt....performance?........see ya next season..(and possibly Jessup this year).......Steve 100N

Hello Steve, this is Brad Walker, Bill's son. Dad does not do computers, they do him.

Dad did a minor rebuild on the 30h mod this summer and is starting from scratch again.

He has a long way to go to catch up with the Luce/Whitham motor.

We will be at Jesup. Hope you can make it

                    Steve,

In MOD there is a rule that I believe Jeff Williams used to point out a lot. It is a very powerful tool that is way under used. It is "Prototype"

Perhaps you should check your rules, yes you find it and read it.

In a nutshell, it allows you to run any engine in any class as a prototype for no points. It gives someone a chance to prove their proposal of an engine is not going to obsolete the current platform. Nobody wants that to happen. So go find that rul in the book, and read up on the exact wording and how to implement it, etc.

I believe you will find your answers here. You might not get points for next season running it in the mod class you choose, but it might prove or disprove your point.

I know 400CCM needs help in terms of numbers. I feel the class is nearly gone now as people are always needing to contact each other to make sure there are enough.

                      25 mod class

I know this will probably make some mad and several of them are my friends. Hell, I cut my racing teeth in this class. It has been on life support for quite a while. Would it not make sense to roll it into B (350) for the hydro? I know that there will always be the "but I run both classes," and "it is just one class" stuff, but how sustainable is it really? I know that when I was running it, it wasn't a legal step up to the B class so there were times I didn't get to run.

                      Just more thoughts

                              Steve (Luke Sky-Walker),

Where your quest will run into trouble...errr...challenge is in MOD where members have the vote....a double sided sword (light faser) cause members of the majority engine that only want to compete with their brand and who have their ducks in a row and the funds to attend the National Convention without any membership preview/debate/voice, of proposals/ballots before said Convention........WILL prevail.
If the MORC sets a final date to submit proposals and publishes them for member review and allows forum debate so benefit of logic can prevail......you might have a chance......

As long as the entire membership is allowed the opportunity to review a proposal before the convention, this system in todays high speed world of communication should be fair?
                              Otherwise surprises such as the fallow'n WILL happen and hind-sight (and duck herders) will be the only benefactor;

I also read the PROPELLER from back to front and did not see any mention of this in fall issues BEFORE or after the convention....
When you have proposals that are of this importance, is it too much to ask for a outline and reasons with history for us new and ignorant members of the class to be published in the PROPELLER far enough ahead so we can contact our Commissioners BEFORE it is a ballot item?"
